Magic System

Magic flows through every inhabitant of the world. Different people have higher or lower affinities to magic and can use it in different ways. It is possible for any creature to learn to wield magic, some may have to work harder to accomplish it, but it is possible.
Every living creature has a resevoir of magical energy within their body, from plants to massive sand whales. There is also free floating magic throughout the world which is more or less dense depending on your location. The most common means of casting magic is to use your own pool of energy to create an effect. The efficiency in which you do this can be trained, but the only way to increase your overall amount of magical energy is by physically strengthening your body.
Studying and practicing magic will allow you to more efficiently create magical effects, but physically training and becoming much stronger will increase your capacity for magical energy and allow you to create more effects as well. The most powerful mages have found a careful balance between the two, allowing them to accomplsih incredible feats of magic that would otherwise be impossible.
Using too much of your magical enegy will leave you exhausted, pushing yourself past exhaustion will make you physically ill, and going further than that will lead to death. Eating food is the easiest way to recover your spent magical energy, plants and animals have their own magical energy. By consuming food, you absorb a portion of that food's magic, allowing you to replenish your own. Potions and other means of transferring magical energy may be quicker, but are not as easy and often much more expensive than eating a meal.

Manifestation

Magic flows like a lifeblood through all creatures. Being able to tap into it and use it to create magic is possible for anyone. It is also possible to tap into other creature's magic and drain it instead of your own, this is considered immoral and illegal in most regions as it can easily kill the one who's magic is being taken.

Localization

Magic in its truest form is much more widespread on the eastern continent of Tirpitz. The western continent of Oderron has created a variety of techonlogies to harness magical energy and utilize it without needing to use the caster's own magic reserves. This technology removes the need to be physically fit at the cost of requiring additional tools to produce the same level of effect.
