Everlight

Everlight is a very small, flat universe made up of floating continents that were once whole. Everything in the Universe is constantly falling except for the landmasses. Everlight is only 25,000km top to bottom, it is impossible to just leave however, if you were to jump off a landmass you would fall about 25,000km before passing it again. This means if you look up you can see the bottom of the landmass you're standing on and theoretically you would be able to see yourself if there was nothing impeding you're vision (and you could see that far).   In the Center of Everlight is the light. The light is the source of life giving warmth and light (duh). The light is falling just like everything else and it is this falling that distinguishes days apart from each other. The inhabitants of Everlight don't use the word day in the same way we do however. The period in which the light falls is called a fall. A fall starts and ends when the light falls out of view and reapers from behind the bottom of the continent above. A fall lasts about 3.5 earth days. There are 100 falls in a year but no months the full date is written in hours, then falls, then years and then the current day. A new day in Everlight occurs after a night, when the light mysteriously dies out for years at a time only to reappear. There have only been two nights in known history, and since they were both so long ago not much is known about them.   The various Landmasses in Everlight were once part of a massive continent. The continent was torn asunder during the second night some ten thousand years ago. Since the light is much smaller than a star from our universe its light and heat lessen at far shorter distances. As such the climate of landmasses can vary greatly depending on how close they are to the light.
