Elves

Basic Information

Anatomy

Elves typically have pointed ears, though the specifics will vary from variety to variety.

Genetics and Reproduction

All Elf species are hermaphroditic and do not have two distinct reproductive sexes. Their methods of reproduction vary greatly.

Additional Information

Geographic Origin and Distribution

They predominantly live on the Elven Continent, which is located east of the Rhoda Continent. However, Desert Elves and their relatives, Spice Elves, live on the southern continent.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

They are more capable of performing magic. Generally, the natural rate of ambit expansion is greater for them than it is for humans, and they are less likely to suffer fatigue from magic overuse. Their centuries of magic scholarship have made them more magically advanced than any other race in the world.

Civilization and Culture

History

Long ago, it's believed there was only one race of Elves. Through migrations and geography, they split into the many sub races of today. The Desert Elves split off early, and became travelling merchants of the Great Expanse, and their sedentary cousins, the Spice Elves, took up an agricultural life style, growing and selling prized spices. The Pasture Elves then took to the steppes, spreading far and wide, before they came across the Bloodstone Mountains, where the ancient Orcs dwelled. The Orcs suffered from the Great Death, the mass dying off of their males. Legend has it that some Pasture Elves mixed and integrated into Orc population, creating the Mountain Elves, the heirs of the Orcs' fearsome warrior traditions and rich mines. The remaining Elves of the temperate range then split between the River Elves and the Forest Elves, who to this day, share a nation.
Lifespan
They are capable of living to 200 years, though actual lifespans will vary depending on location and external factors.
