Phoebe
Phoebe of the Stars, or Phoebe, was a neutral good goddess of the stars, navigation, fate, and dreams. Her first appearance was during the Eventide, when Evalon was reconnected to the celestial bodies around her.
All paths are written in the stars, though only the bold dare to follow them. Step lightly, dream brightly, and trust the light above.
Description
Phoebe was most often depicted as a pair of glowing eyes in the night sky. Generally, Phoebe was never depicted having a body, as her followers believed that she has no need for a mortal avatar. It is said that when Phoebe wishes to communicate with her followers she takes the form of a guiding star, a soft whisper in dreams, or a calm presence on storm-tossed seas. To her followers, Phoebe was around long before the Divine Emergence and will be around for eternity.Personality
Phoebe was a quiet but unwavering force. She rarely offered direct guidance but instead provided signs and dreams for seekers to interpret. She valued the freedom of choice while honoring the weave of fate that binds all things. To Phoebe, destiny was not fixed as it is a road paved by choice and chance alike, and her light illuminated both. She is patient, contemplative, and speaks seldom. She despised manipulation and deceit, or those who blind others to the truth. She was often invoked against illusions, false prophecies, and mislead omens.Worshipers
Phoebe was worshiped by navigators, astrologers, oracles, dreamwalkers, and sailors. Her followers often kept small altars near windows or in observatories, where starlight can tough their offerings. Elves, due to her radiant and ethereal presence, made up a significant portion of her followers. However, followers of Phoebe could be found on ships, star worshiping villages, and anyone who thought to look up to the stars for answers. Temples dedicated to Phoebe were built atop cliffs, mountaintops, or remote islands as these locations were considered to be closer to the stars. These sanctuaries are open-roofed observatories filled with celestial maps, silver instruments, and murals that shift with moon phases.Holidays and Traditions
