Dolgrin

Dolgrin was a lawful good dwarven god of dwarves, kinship, protection, and remembrance. He was a patron to dwarves worldwide and was considered the first great dwarf to have ever lived in the Age of The Old Gods. Dolgrin existed well before the age of the New Gods, although historians could not accurately place when or where he once lived on the planet as a mortal. He is said to have been the first God brought back from the dead during the Divine Emergence.
"To forget the name of an ancestor is to forget our history and legacy. Dolgrin would never stand for such blasphemy. We honor our dead with the Stonesong Festival, knowing their spirits live on."
— Priest of Dolgrin

Description

Depictions of Dolgrin typically displayed him as an average dwarven height and younger appearance. He had long brown hair, an accentuated mustache, and a well-kept beard. He usually wore white clothing and bronze-plated pauldrons and bracers. His demeanor was that of kindness and understanding. Dolgrin's symbol was that of an enternal light, always calling dwarves back to their roots.

Personality

Dolgrin was said to have been the first and greatest dwarf ever to exist, eventually becoming the progenitor of their race. He cared deeply for the existence and upbringing of dwarves, instilling a sense of pride in dwarven ancestry and remembrance of deceased ancestors. The teachings of Dolgrin were deeply rooted in respecting and remembering ancestors and strengthening bonds between the living. Dolgrin was known as a kind and generous deity, a trait his followers tried to emulate regardless of the situation. His kindness should not be mistaken for weakness, as he despises those who use others for their gain.

Worshippers

His spirit was deeply woven into the dwarven lineage, making him the root, trunk, and branches of their family tree. To honor him and the ancestral spirits, the Dwarves partake in the Stonesong Festival, an annual communion rite between the living and the deceased. They curate meticulous records of their ancestors, utter their names with reverence, and bestow upon them offerings of food and trinkets as gifts to the afterlife. To forget the name of an ancestor is to defy the essence of Dolgrin himself - a blasphemy unforgivable in their culture.   Dolgrin, though a symbol of kindness and compassion, embodies the resilience and stern determination of the mountain stone. His wrath falls upon those who exploit the trust of others, particularly the vile practitioners of necromancy, who dare to disturb the peaceful rest of the ancestors. Dolgrin's animosity towards Noxxis, the trickster God known for his manipulations, is echoed by his followers. Followers of Noxxis are seen as a scourge, a blight upon the world, corrupting the harmony Dolgrin seeks to maintain.
