Astraea
Astraea was the lawful good goddess of glory, good, justice, sun, and war. Formerly a mortal, Astraea was granted godhood after completing the Trial of the Worldroot.
"The sun does not falter, nor shall we."
Description
Astraea, known as the Everbright, did not have universally agreed on avatar as she was depicted differently based on culture, region, or race. What her followers did agree on however, was that she always carried a longsword and wore plate armor.
Personality
Astraea was resolute and radiant, and she carried herself with an unwavering dignity of a just ruler and the courage of a seasons warrior. While she was stern in her expectations, she tempered judgement with mercy. She spoke with clarity and conviction, never wasting words, and inspired others through example rather than empty promises.
Astraea had no tolerance for deceit, cowardice, or tyranny. Such flaws were to be punished, not excused. Mercy was extended to those who earnestly sought redemption; all others are to be met with the sword. Evil, in her eyes, was a disease that must be purged at the root, and those who embrace it forfeit their right to live.
She abhorred the undead and saw them as mockeries of life and abominations against the sun. Any mortal who would consort with or tolerate the undead was guilty of betraying life itself. Astraea demanded that her followers destroy these blasphemies wherever they rise.
Her outlook was one of uncompromising clarity: honor was to be upheld at all costs, the innocent must always be defended, and the guilty must be met with the sword. To follow Astraea was to embrace a path of righteousness without hesitation, for hesitation is weakness, and weakness allows evil to thrive.
Abilities
Astraea embodied the radiant light of the sun and wielded power that both uplifted the righteous and annihilated the wicked. Her very presence drove back shadows, corruption, and caused the undead to wither into ash. Known as the Radiance of the Sunblade, this divine light restores strength and courage to her faithful while blinding and burning her enemies. Through Judgement of the Everbright, Astraea saw through all falsehoods and discerned guilt with perfect clarity. As a war goddess, she inspired armies with Warrior's Ascension.
Worshipers
Astraea's followers included paladins, clerics, knights, judges, rulers, and all who believe in the duty of upholding uncompromising justice. Her faith was especially strong with humans and dwarves, though oppressed of all races cried out to her for deliverance. Her worshipers believed in action, not words. To her followers, to pray is to swear an oath, and to swear an oath is to be bound to see it done.
The Church
The Church of Astraea was militant, hierarchical, and modeled similar to a holy army. Its faithful were organized into Orders of the Sun, each commanded by a Sunblade ruling over Swords of Astraea.
The church's leader was called the High Priest or Priestess of the Sun and they were the voice of Astraea upon the moral plane.
Temples of Astraea resembled fortresses more than sanctuaries, with towers crowned by golden suns and sanctuaries filled with radiant light. They were both a place of worship and bastion against evil.

The Trials of the Everbright was the holy book of Astraea's faith and it recounted her mortal deeds and the laws of justice that she laid down.
