100 years ago there was a great civil world on the main continent. Decades prior, the birth of industrial age technology was born. This lead to a division between some who studied the Arcane/Divine. Magic was to be superior to technology, but as it advanced it was able to mimic the effects of Magic. Its heights began to climb, and soon everyone had access to the most basic of electricity and assistance. Magic was left to those who wished to study it, but Technology, well that became a house hold commodity.   Houses light up from the Castles to the slums. Magicians were obsolete. But there were those who did not trust it. Whether due to fear of being left behind in the past or honest fear that the Gods would strike them down for attempting to reach such heights. The Kingdom of Monzame began to stand up against this rise of the modern age, they stood by their magics and Gods. Technology was banned, the use of it forbidden. This lead to laws being enacted that would violate their pledge to the United Kingdoms.   After failed attempts to negotiate, The Kingdom of Monzame became over zealous in their stance. The details remain unclear, but this event sparked the beginnings of the civil war. The war lasted roughly about 10 years. With the other remaining Kingdoms winning the war. It was the introduction of the latest evolution to Technology. The marriage between Magic & Technology. MagicTech. Technological devices empowered by Magic. One fueling another, to empower, strengthen or make new effects.   The use of Technology giving them the advantage that they needed, The Kingdom of Monzame was dethroned, all leaders sent into exile and a new family was Crowned. Now over a 100 years later we visit our world. A hybrid of Magic infused Steampunk era. Where Magic and Technology operate on two different principles to achieve similar goals. In the United Kingdoms only the Major cities have access to advanced tech. While most all cities have basic Electricity and such. the more advanced stuff is left still to the Nobles and Elites. Magitech is not cheap, and as such still quite rare in the world.
