St. Ludstrad

The largest city in Taria, St Ludstrad serves as the province’s hub of trade and the midway point between the westernmost tip of the empire and its capital.
St Ludstrad is nestled up against the southern slopes of the Himmelfjall mountains, surrounded by countless miles of forest and is blanketed in snow for more almost a third of the year. A wide river diagonally bisects the city from Northeast to Southwest, with several stone bridges built across the canal. The city is surrounded by sturdy, yet visually unappealing stone walls that are lined by six tall watchtowers that the city watch uses to keep tabs on the city and the surrounding forest.
Near the south western wall, the river that divides the city cascades into a waterfall nearly two hundred feet tall into a lake, supernaturally frozen for eternity. A faint blue glow can be seen illuminating the ice, originating from the sword of Astrid, a rogue Knight of Alsinder who cast her sword into the lake nearly two hundred years ago.
