Education

Began his magical education at a young age as his family is a long line of wizards. His father taught him much of the basics before sending him to learn from his own mentor outside of Pleres. He attended both normal classes and magical classes until he became of age and continued his study under his father's watchful eye at The Wizard Tower in Pleres.

Employment

Upon reaching a reasonable level of magical ability his father began teaching him the tasks he would be needed to perform as future Magical Adviser to the King. Gyles would accompany his father and help with the menial jobs within the castle. By the time he was in his mid 30s Gyles had a good grasp on not only magical theory but his responsibilities that awaiting him in the future. He would spend time teaching the next generation of wizards in the Tower while carrying out his own research, a wizard is never done learning. It was around this time that the young King Aldin was approaching late childhood and was to begin his magical education, if only in theory only. The responsibility of teaching him was given to Gyles as his father was approaching old age and it was time to hand the reigns over. King Aldin was a difficult student and Gyles struggled to have him understand, he was also very arrogant and Gyles would be blamed for the King's failure to grasp basic magical concepts. Eventually after King Aldin had long given up learning anything to do with magic, he came into power in his late 20s and decreed magic banned from Pleres. With that Gyles was out of a job and asked to leave the castle. Upset with this development Gyles got involved in the smuggling of magical items, partly to undermine King Aldin and partly because he saw the people in need. He continues to be a self employed partner in the only magical item smuggling network in Pleres, advising the smugglers and referring people to them as needed.
