Ethilite

Ethilite is a world parallel to our own, connected together via liminal spaces that exist in both places at once. At the heart of Ethilite, in the continent of Winderful, sits the World Tree that distributes magic with its roots.   Ethilite is watched over by the Gods and Goddesses who have shaped the world thanks to bouts of competition and poorly timed bets, as well as the daemons that protect the roots of the World Tree, and the pocket dimensions attached.   Through various forms of poking and prodding throughout the centuries, the Gods and Goddesses have shaped Ethilite to its current form, housing seven highly-advanced sentient species that all originate from the same source - humans.   Although each race has the ability to perform magic with practice and patience, some feel as though humans have the short end of the stick - unlike their counterparts, they lack the additional affinity to magic types.   Some wish the Gods would cater to humans.   Some wish to be Gods themselves.
