The Zeorus
Zeorus are a type of humanoid plant species who can be made up of any plant and have many different sizes. Generally speaking, the majority of this species lives in the kingdom of Plemov. Not much is known about this species as they block outsiders from entering their land. However, they have shared this piece of information.
A Zeorus is born when somebody in Ethiar dies from suicide or if that person died while extremely unhappily. The unhappy soul ends up in Plemov and enters a plant. That random plant forms into a humanoid plant person. The Zeorus do not have a sex and generally use the term they/them. Although there have been a few cases of Zeorus deciding that they prefer using she/her or he/him pronouns.
Basic Information
Anatomy
They do not have a skeleton. Their body is made up of a singular plant. That plant will grow or shrink if the body is smaller than 12 inches or if they are bigger than 25 feet. Zeorus' souls are unhappy dead people reborn as a Zeorus. Most Zeorus eat through photosynthesis.
Biological Traits
Every Zeorus hits a random plant and take on traits of that plant while looking humanoid. So for example, if one hit a tree then that Zeorus would look like a humanoid tree. If a soul went to a rose then that soul would turn into a humanoid rose.
Genetics and Reproduction
They also do not have any sex organs since they don't reproduce. When a soul hits a plant, then a new Zeorus is formed.
Growth Rate & Stages
A Zeorus is born fully formed but their minds need to grow. So its like having the mind of a baby in an adult body.
Ecology and Habitats
Their habitats vary but generally they live in forests, plains, or swamps. Deserts, oceans, and snowy areas do not appeal to them.
Dietary Needs and Habits
They need water, sunlight, and soil to survive. This is why they are not often found in oceans or deserts despite there being plants there.
Biological Cycle
With the changing of weather, Zeorus often hides in their homes from the winter and waits for spring. During the fall their leaves will begin to shed, warning them of the coming winter. They prepare their homes for cold winters and use magic to gather sunlight for the winters and keep pots of water around.

Naming Traditions
Everybody has one first name that represents who they are. Most of these names come from nature. For example, somebody may be named Brook or somebody else might be named Willow. However names like tree, grass, or other simple names aren't used.

The major faction that they live in is Plemov.
Beauty Ideals
The Zeorus believe that having other colors than green on their bodies is a beautiful thing. Although if they have no green then that Zeorus is considered odd. There must be green but to have some colors along with that.
Gender Ideals
They don't really have any gender ideals since they don't have any particular sex.
Courtship Ideals
The Zeorus believe that romantic love is just a different kind of friendship. Friendship is considered essential for romantic love. Romances are expected to be slow and only with close friends.
Relationship Ideals
The relationship ideal is to have two partners of any kind who love, trust, and respect each other. They must have a deep relationship between each other.
Average Technological Level
They have higher advancements with natural materials. So for example, they can create buildings out of trees and plants while still keeping the trees and plants alive. That is something which is impossible for everybody else. They have also cultivated ways to use enchantments to gather sunlight. But they keep how they do all this a secret.

Common Etiquette Rules
It is simply manners to look out for the people around them. If a person is about to trip or if they need help, it is expected that other people will automatically help them, unless it is an enemy of some sorts.

They don't wear clothes.
Culture and Cultural Heritage
They have a very natural culture. As plants, they only take what they need which is water and sunlight. But they also aren't afraid to use the dead plants like dead trees or sticks on the ground. Some of this is because they see the value in nature and have the desire to protect it. But most of this is because any of the plants around them could become a Zeorus one day. So these plants are basically like unborn children to them. Although they are not so sensitive that they try to avoid stepping on plants or anything like that.
Common Customs, Traditions and Rituals
As for the animals, despite eating plants, the Zeorus are fine with them. The Zeorus know that having overpopulation issues would be terrible and that the ecosystem needed animals to help stay alive. In fact, many Zeorus have some animals as pets or as friends, depending on the animal's intelligence level.
It is customary to live in a plant home of some sort. Most have tree homes but some have homes made up of vines or underground homes. Some even have giant mushrooms as their homes.
When it becomes winter the Zeorus will gather in groups and dig out a giant underground temporary home to live in all winter. They use magic to keep the entire space warm and spend their days relaxing through winter. By winter most Zeorus have stocked up on enough sunlight and water to keep their group happy.
When spring comes, everybody comes out and throws a huge feast to celebrate reuniting with each other. Spring represents a new year to them so they have a new year celebration.
Common Taboos
Suicide and dying unhappily is a major taboo since it is an unhappy event that results in their birth. They are afraid that they might remember their past unhappy life if either is mentioned.

Their history is spread through oral tradition.
Evergreen- The first Zeorus
Evergreen was the first Zeorus. Their soul had been lost and wandering until they hit a plant. The combination of a living plant and their soul led to them being morphed into a Zeorus. They remembered their past and has been the only one to do so in all of Zeorus history. Their past was painful and depressing but they were grateful to have another chance at life. Evergreen wanted to give others the chance to have a new life too. They asked one of the gods if lost souls who couldn't enter the afterlife be directed to Plemov to receive another chance. The deity agreed and thus Zeorus were created.
Through hard work and years of effort, Evergreen was able to help make a society that focused on caring for each other. However, Evergreen noticed that the rest of the outside world was not like them. In an effort to keep outsiders from ruining their society, Evergreen used their magic to create massive nonburnable trees that surrounded all of Plemov. Any Zeorus would be able to open the door into their country but outsiders would be blocked unless given entree by a Zeorus.
Calla- The sunlight gatherer
Calla was the first Zeorus to figure out how to gather sunlight using enchantments. Not much was known about their life but it was known that Calla helped generations after them.
