Ethia and the Fifty-Three Moons

Ethia is a single-planet system consisting of one island-planet formed around the single blue star that is currently orbited by fifty-three moons. Once a hub and home to over twenty native species, Ethia is a shadow of its former glory - having recently survived a universal war called the Annihilation Event that was neither won nor lost by all involved, Ethia and its remaining six species stand on the brink of collapse. Already, the people scramble to preserve what history they can still retain as they enter what is known as the Recovery Era.   Ruled by a unique council and watched by sleeping entities, Ethia's system hurtles through the howling dark of the Universe, unbound by cosmic law as it searches for a means to survive as well as survivors of the devastating war. Officially named the Court of the Fifty-Third Moon, the council of Ethia is spear-headed by the last of the Corrogane people and the only known veteran of the Annihilation Event of the Ethian citizens, the Last Oracle. Even then, the Last Oracle has been rumored to have been one of the five rulers of Ethia in the years before the Annihilation Event and that they have always been in a seat of power, even as the four others collapsed under the strain of war.   Consisting of ruins and rebuilt cities alike, Ethia exists in a post-apocalyptic scenario, a world trying to recover after disaster and, after thousands of years, still struggle to rebuild and recover to this day. Scars of war and genocide are not only upon Ethia, but all over the Universe as well, for it was a war of divine beings and gods and mortals and immortals and now, there are only descendants of the survivors and ruins of great civilizations to mark their existence. The world is tired. But there is hope.
