Session 5: Babbots and Bizards
With the not at all horrifying events of the past few days under wraps, the party decided it was time they dealt with the abbot, and maybe tried to find the mad mage. Thus, they made their way to Krezk and loudly discussed their plans to murder the abbot with an armadillo as they walked up the winding path to the abbey. They entered and had a short and completely friendly converstion with the abbot, which ended with him showing his true form (some kinda angel thing), a short fight with him and a short talk with Vasilka later, and the party began to make their way out of Krezk and toward the woods where the mad mage had last been sited. Bang said some racist stuff, Ruby beat him to a pulp, it was a time.
After all that had transpired the party began walking through woods calling out for the mad mage and offering turkish delight if he traded his family to them. A fair amount of time passed, and suddenly they were beset by a deer, who turned into a man, who definitely thought about turning into a duck but didn't have time, as the party had bound him, and waited for a spell that made messing with his mind impossible to wear off. As the spell ran its course, the party healed him of his madness, and the mage led them to his not at all elaborate home in the woods, where they were given food to eat and he had a chance to repay their kindness. Introducing himself as Mordenkainen, he gave them all a gift in the form of a broach that would assist them in their fight against Strahd, and gave them his word to assist them when the time came.
With a tasty meal in their bellies, most of the party prepared to enter Strahds castle. Those who entered had a wonderful time, and many professed that their favorite location was a place called the Bone Room. Where the stole a dragon skull (like good guests), and made their way to Argynvostholt, where they would return the skull to its final resting place and not have to deal with any of the pale individuals who used to be knights of the silver dragon who had once tried to overthrow Strahd.
Fun.
Did I mention they also looted the place and destroyed a giant crystal heart that seemed to be linked to Strahd? Like I said, the best party guests you could ask for.
