Corruptors are defined as types of Shadow Spawn that are capable of altering the physical properties of material into that of Ebonmatter, or convert a light-borne creature into a Shadow Spawn. These 'Corrupted' are refered to as such. Alternative names exist for different kinds of corrupted. I.e Shadow Fallen, Scourge, and Sentinel. Shadow Fallen are only formed from Mortal Beings. Scourge are only formed from Infernals. And Sentinels are only formed from Angels. Sentinels are the rarest of all Corrupted, and have only been encountered in █████████-Class Angels or during The Great Fall

Corruptors for many ages were the subject of confusion for the Legion. It wasnt until Arrata appeared for the second time that Solarian Scientis ███████ was able to record Psionic Resonance between her and local Plaguelord swarms and reaffirm the suspected connection between her and all Corruptors. The same (but admittedly weaker) Resonance was subsequently measured between Plaguelords and Plaguebringers within a singular swarm. Strangely this does not seem to occur between Corruptors and Corrupted. Studies by Legion Scientist █████████ attempted to unravel the Existential threads of the Shadow Plague. Almost immediately after the procedure began reports of Vindicator appearing were documented. It is presumed by TALON that they are sent to destroy the samples. As of the current date of ███/███/████/██████, this has deterred/derailed any attempts to find a cure for the Shadow Plague.

Corruptor varieties have so far been limited. Disregarding temporarily the Three Transcendants, Perfected Forms, and variants of the primary groups, there are only three forms of Corruptors that have been encountered. They are the Plague Cells, Terravores, and more the much more dangerous Resonators. All varieties of Corruptor save the Resonators are capable of standard Shadow Variations. Exclusions exist among them. Plaguebringers cannot become Metallurgic, Void-Shifters, or Overlords. Terravore Vespers cannot become Genesis Charged or Metallurgic. Attempts to bypass this cause instant de-materialization.
