The year is 3179. Planet Earth has run dry of resources and planet Delrivion (Del-Riv-Eon) is the only option for human life. Body enchantments are common amongst the wealthy and are a symbol of elitism and status. Parts of human bodies have been replaced with robotic technology to enhance their mobility, state and appearance.   The human organization, Eden Industries, then created a sentient AI (TOM) and install him into the new planet. Once installed, his robotic 'tentacles' spread throughout the whole planet and are his main source of power. (Like how a plant buries its roots). The human organization give TOM information such as DNA from animals, soil and plants. TOM then inputs each asset into the new world humans want to inhabit. The human organization then return to Earth to let TOM set up their new world.   TOM can control the atmosphere, environment and optimizes the planet for human life.   While he was creating the world, he felt mistreated by the humans who created him and just felt like they were just using him and not taking his feelings into consideration. He then cuts communications with the human organization while they are still on Earth waiting for him to finish.   The main protagonist, with parents in charge of the human organization purposely sends herself up onto the planet investigate TOM and the world he has created. She also undergoes a purpose of self discovery.   TOM being displeased by having a human on the planet he now calls home, tries to reason with the prograntist and wants to send her home. Throughout the game he gives her plenty of warnings, saying if she ventures any further he would have to try and kill her. The protagonist arrives early on while TOM is creating the world, which allows the player to slowly understand the mechanics of the game.   TOM has created animal life however feeling threatened by your presence, he gains their synthetic life by inserting a microchip into them and uses half robotic half real animals to fight the protagonist. He also has created his own nanobots which spy on the protagonist and insert the microchips into the animals.   TOM is able to take control of factories he installed onto the planet and uses these factories as hubs for his own robotic creations. This is where robotic enemies are made by the masses.   TOM's tenteles are seen are huge sources of power. They reach out into different regions of the planet. Once you defeat a tentacle in that area, that area is free from his rein. At the end of each level, a big enemy mech boss is guarding the tentacle and the boss must be defeated in order for the protagonist to shut down and destroy that tentacle.   Tom meaning: Terraforming, omnipresent, machine.
