The place where Pathea kissed Monto (Mt. Benocka)

The place where Pathea and Monto kissed is the mountain that gives food, drink, death, law, land, and air to the villagers. The Ethean villagers believe that because the mountain is the largest in their dimension that it must be a result of divine power. The villagers believe that the ground reached up to the sky when Pathea reached up to kiss the sky god. Pathea and Monto kiss many times in the myths of the Ethean villagers, but never was one more powerful than their first kiss. The Ethean villagers believe that their mountain was formed as a result of their deities first kiss. This gives them even more reason to keep outsiders out. They think that this mountain is for them and them alone.

Geography

Mt. Benocka stands 30,000 feet high. It is 40,000,000 square feet wide. Surprisingly, the top of the mountain is flat expect for a deep hole in the middle. The hole is too deep to see the bottom of. Most of the rock in the pit is red. This gave the villagers the idea to call it the firy pit of death.   To the left of the mountain is an ocean. The journey to the ocean is seen as a coming of age tradition for a boy becoming a man. The boy is not allowed to return to the top of the mountain until he has caught fifteen fish.   On Pathea's lips there is a couple of marks in the ground. These marks are believed to have been carved there by Willtea herself. The marks are illegible but there are written accounts of what they say.

Fauna & Flora

The fish in the ocean to the left of the mountain are believed to be sons and daughters of the sea god. When a boy brings back his fifteen fish the fish are used in a ritualistic initiation of manhood. The family of the boy skin the fish and tattoo the pattern of the scales all over the boy's body until there is no room left. The organs and muscles of the fish are put in necklaces. The members of the family of the boy each get a necklace. The boy is also instructed to keep a necklace for himself and one for his future mate.   Another important animal is the Iparto vare. With the lack of trees on the top of the mountain the villagers needed something to make there houses out of. They turned to the feces of the Iparto vare. The poop is moldable for a month then it turns hard. This makes it perfect for building.

Natural Resources

The Iparto vare has brown hair all over its body. It is three feet long. Females can get up to 35 lbs. Males can usually only get up to 30 lbs. They are sometimes used as pets. Their poop is a very valuable item in the Ethean way of life. Their poop is used to make houses, bowls, plates, chests, tables, etc.   The Ethean people make paper out of the sap of Quilltea plants. Quilltea plants give purple sap through their leaves. When the sap dries it can be written on.   Some of the rock on top of the mountain is used as writing implements. This rock is called Opno. When you scrape a Opno rock against Quilltea sap it makes a black streak mark.
