Venin

Epitaphs: Great Deceiver, Lord of Lies, Dusktongue, The Hooded One

Venin, the Great Deceiver, seeks to undermine mortals by tricking them into false ideologies and illusory goals. She relishes the lies people tell themselves to justify depravity and cruelty. Venin’s followers gain great skill in illusions and convincing others of their versions of the truth, but eventually they lose all sense of what is real and what is not.

Venin is a towering, black-robed figure whose face is a mirror, reflecting a subtly distorted version of the observer. Her voice seems to echo from deep within the listener’s head.

P. 192 Grim Hollow Campaign Guide

The Arch Daemon of Deceit is known as the Great Deceiver, Dusktongue, and Hooded. She is the master of illusion, lies, and insanity. Venin is capable of giving her followers power over illusions and deceit, but eventually even they lose track of what is truth and fiction. Venin hates Zabriel and rewards those who assassinate the Arch Seraph’s followers.

P. 35 Grim Hollow Players Guide

Venin served Ulmyr, the God of Chaos and Magic, learning many ways to shape reality to ones liking. She lived an existence of wonder and amazement that she never wished to give up. The Gods End war took her Master, her role, her whole world from her. While she attempted to restore all she had lost, many found that her powers were no comparison to Ulmyr. The Arch Seraphs still argue if she was driven insane in the war or simply smarter than she lets on.
