Eternal Fragment is the name of the era of the world Vania is currently in a vast earth like world with many races and a vast amount of magic. In the earlier days the gods/godess where many! super-powered immortals able to create and destroy mortal life!, shape land and water!, and forge grand artifacts! but over time the gods began to war with each other non being happy with the other the world was divide into two states one in the name of good one in the name of evil with no neutrality being known eventually this lead to a calm. the world was divide into many empires, tribes, dynasty, and kingdoms etc... each lead by each a single god/goddess or a coalition of gods/goddess the gods were at peace for once in a long time this was shattered when a beast of massive proportions known as the Devourer (an anti-realm creature that feeds on suns) entered our realm along with an advanced human ship, the first and last of mankind to crash land on Vania only to emerge years after their arrival to spread destruction. A host of all known gods, ascended to fight the Devourer. Knowing only the death of our sun could lead to the death of all life mortal and immortal. After a great and titanic battle where many gods were slayed the Devourer still continued towards the sun, the god's where shattered and demoralized seeing that death was inevitable until a "new force" older then the primordials of yore, their emerged a being known only as the ALL-FATHER.
With the death of over a quarter of the known gods many races left behind by their death felt either a mental or physical backlash and many even became undone this left a massive power void in the world. Mankind having been isolated and cut off from the rest of Vania, began to expand out in every direction,, clashing with the other species in the world. The ensuing war that followed ended up with the enslavement or subjugation of any race unable to beat or best mankind a godless anti-realm particle wielding freak of a race who saw the world though alien eyes, as mankind rose to power. The "ALL-FATHER" finally after a very long time manged to defeat the Devourer but it was a costly victory as the gods were stripped of their immortality and so was the world of Vania, with the Devourer dead the ALL-FATHER retired weakened and unable to do anything but sleep, the gods battered and bloodied with immortality stripped returned to Vania only to find their children at war with mankind the return helped in raising a few nations back to glory, but mankind at this stage of the war had a very powerful sorcerer known as Thu'j rise to power this man then used a corrupted version of manais energy to eclipse the moon and draw the manais energy out ward severely weakening the known races. the gods at this point could only match Mankind in numbers with their armies and only with superior strength and superior speed it seemed for a time mankind could be contained in tell the same sorcerer who drew out manais energy with a lunar eclipse then unleashed a devastating genetic virus known as Gods-bane. this virus then wiped out 40% of the non-mankind population and killed every god left live. with mankind at the height of its glory and the gods gone the other races of the world though severely weakened have heard of the death of the sorcerer of man and the eclipse has passed, they now have began to harness the manias energy left behind by the gods they also started to re-wield the power of arken'ight crystals to combat mankind though in a very minor way due to most races being either a slave of mankind or a subject.This is the dawn of mankind! the fall of the gods! and the discovery of their ancient artifacts by their fallen children!
