Bedario Kassis

Bedario is young yes but that has never stopped him from working towards his dream. As a boy, he would often find himself at the sand ports listening to the tails of the sand sailors as they rested from their journeys. He would bring them water or fruit if asked and would spend hours just watching and listening. As soon as he was able he started training in woodwork. This was a promising trade for someone so young so his parents allowed this pursuit. Hoping that one day he would become a great carpenter. He did not, however, tell them his true intention in learning this skill. He wished to build his own sand sailor and ride it across Esnax on his own. This task would be a difficult one. Most sand sailors require crews of 3 to 4 minimum in order to sail but Bedario wanted to create a ship that he could ride by himself. This required the vessel to be smaller than most thus making it more difficult to control and more likely to crash.

When his family learned of this goal they were outraged, to say the least. Sand sailing was extremely dangerous and often led to shady work. A vessel that could be used to quickly cross the desert was favored by all kinds of thieves and cutthroats. If not that then their son would take on one of the deadliest jobs in Esnax, worm mining. This caused a small rift in Bedario's home life. So much so that he left his hometown and traveled to Sanlow. Here he learned how sand sailors were created and began work on his own version of the vessels. Many called him crazy for building such a small and frail thing and when Bedario finally finished he couldn't get anyone to test it with him so that he could build up his credibility. Even with all the doubt surrounding his vessel Bedario knows that he has created a masterpiece and that one day somebody will give him the chance he deserves to let it truly shine!
