Mythology & Lore
Human souls lay dormant in a Pre-Etephen Realm, brought here by humans who escaped seeking meaning. On Etephe (the real world), they found a Gateway to Heaven, and found meaning in bringing all souls out of prison and to Heaven through the Gateway of Melidera.
Divine Origins
Lost to antiquity. Believe themselves to be the only humans on Earth; all others are monsters.
Cosmological Views
The world's origins are unclear, but Melidera is the Gateway to Heaven, and it must be protected at all costs. No one must know about it's existence, or history will repeat itself and the gate will close, like it did during the time period the Augustians call "The Millenium of Wickedness."
Tenets of Faith
You must be kind to your neighbor, and you must bear children. Women are expected to have as many as possible, so that the maximum number of souls can be sent to heaven.
Worship
Regard the Gateway and the Mountain as holy and sacred, any who desecrate it or disrespect it will be blocked from entrance.
Priesthood
There is a group of tribal leaders and warriors whose duties range from guarding the Gate to surveying the land around for outsiders.
