Your Package is Tight

I had a feeling that "Package", name coined by our group for the girl we were smuggling to the port town of Barem, would be the same girl that our princely companion was looking for. Furthermore, they are still alive AND they are the daughter to baron Slatebrand. Aurnel looks overwhelmed with emotions learning that the person he loves is still alive. Without wanting to burden him further I speak with Omar and decide to get some food at some local tav-OHMYGAWD it's called "The Sultry Seagull!". IT HAS A SEAGULL IN WOMEN's UNDERWEAR MOUNTED TO THE WALL! Fans you have no idea how exciting this is, forget about what's been happening lately, forget all that, this bar has a MASCOT and sea shanties. The tavernkeeper gives out menus on shaved bark and colouring pencils to fill in our orders! Omar isn't as excited about this as I am but this is a first for this wandering halfling. All said the food is average. As we are trying to speak about what's happening within our collective group a couple of sailors slam into our table as they fight over a float. I knock out one of the sailors and the other calls out "PUB FIGHT!!!" and the full tavern broils into a massive fight.   Omar quickly uses his magic to slide out of the bar but I manage to knock out a couple of the patrons before rushing out of the Sultry Seagull. I was able to apprehend a flute from one of the attackers, I'm not sure what it does aside from being a flute but I consider this a fair memento to a fun supper in Barrem. We head back to the inn our companions are staying at and Omar is interested in identifying a dagger that was removed from an assassin who tried to kill Sylvar's siblings. Unfortunately we find another roadblock in our path for knowledge as somehow a powerful wizard has put an enchantment on the dagger to prevent us from identifying the object. The only details that Omar was able to uncover was that the dagger has enchantment, necromancy, divination and evocation magic associated with it. Sylvar unfortunately also touches the dagger and gets their mind abducted by the power within the dagger. After a lot of ominous staring Sylvar was back to us as he once was and sheathed the dagger out of sight. This was uncomfortable. There was some information given about two evil deities, one of darkness and the other of trickery, but only further investigation will reveal more.   The boat captain should be arriving soon, Omar just messaged me, however I am currently on my way to see the master of Barrem, Lord...Bodega? Anyway, the plan is to get some information out of him about Slatebrand as he may be the most knowledgeable about the person in question.   Ok so I tried to stir the pot with Lord Bodega and Lord Slatebrand and I'm not sure if that was effective or not but now they know my given name and what I look like so this has gone terribly awful, hopefully the encounter with the boat captain goes better.   And the captain wont give up any information, Sylvar tried, but then Hurm decided to go up to the boat and now he's on their ship. Alone. This is exciting times, fans, as we may have yet another companion abducted yet again!

It's pronounced, "THIRST"

So we went from Bird Town to Kobald Town. Which I can still get behind but it's a weird energy. Apparently Ethar has rallied the kobalds here. Oh and half the party is still addicted to mushrooms. Either way I decided to have fun with the kobalds that swarm this town. Crowd surfing, engaging with the kobalds, apparently feeding them. They seem to like it in this town so I decided to make signs, with the help of Ethar, stating: -Big Kobald Energy Required at "Feast Town", add value for whatever you take.   With some creative translating we made the signs, adding one dragonic sign stating "Kobald King lives here", and we place them outside of town so that Kobalds can find their way here. We continue on to Myrefell, winter is gripping tighter and tighter on the kingdoms as we go.   On another note, Caldera uses incredible restraint as I witnessed him try to have Omar fix Caldera's clothes. It was a process.   As we get in eyesight of Myrefell we could hear yelling which was a little unexpected. Soon we see a bloody battle occuring at the west gate, goblins wash against the defenders of Myrefell and we spring into action. Leaping off the cart I cry out "We are the Heroes of Myrefell and we have come to assist you!" and rushed the goblins casting faerie fire and assisting my allies. Goblins swarm around me as I lead the charge. Rusty scimitars digging into my arms and I hear the shockwave of Hurm's shatter spell bursting a few of the monsters into gibs about me. Caldera soon joins fray turning their sword into blazing lightning; quick work mincing through these creatures. Pushing further into this angry sea of green we realize rapidly that the goblin forces have their own magic wielders who sling rays of fire at us. However this is barely a candle to our own Ethar. Our own kobald companion fires a fireball from behind and obliterates an incredible amount of goblins and orcs that we have to take a pause to see what happened.   These goblins haven't had a chance to consider the terror of this fight and we sweep in to clean up the stragglers on the field. Sadly there was no mercy given. Reinforcing from the rear, hobgoblins close ranks and push us with their advance; the fight becomes more challenging and the Myrefell guard take heavy losses. The battle is over and we manage to slaughter the remaining goblins. Wiping the blood from my face and off my clothes as best I can, I join the others and we enter the city.   Ah, what a sweet sight to see, Myrefell is where my adventure began and once again we return to the inn where it all started. We recognized a few faces, some of them are people we aren't too fond of, and some were fond acquaintances. Aurnel informs us that his betrothed, whom was murdered, is the daughter of the local villain of the black market. Before kicking that hornets nest we try and get our companions cured of their addiction and manage to gain the assistance of the cleric to Selune. Oh wow she's so pretty. Too pretty. I'm struggling to pay attention, pretty. I don't even notice the fact that although she was able to cure my companions but not remove all their cravings. "I wonder if I payed her 100 gold pieces if she would dunk me in the pool". On another note the priestess adorned those taking part in this curing ritual with ceremonial robes, and I recognized them, I recognized them from a vision I have from the future.   Our group now heads for the Slatebrand Manor to confront the victims father for details about the murder and get answers for Aurnel.

All the Devils You Love

We had a very in depth debate on if Asmodeus is a lust god and what would be his pickup lines. It's been a nice distraction to trying to find our friends who are on a quest for drugs. Also we realized that Hurm is 38. I'm confused and Omar can't understand that someone is older than he is. Omar, myself, Ethar are trying to search for our friends who hopefully haven't gotten too far. Hopefully Sylvar may not be as agitated as he was earlier... I guess if I don't rip into his family members that may help. I really hope they dont meet up with a strange hunter in the middle of the night, who may be a vampire, and, I don't know, try and petition them to find them drug-shrooms. I guess it would be worse if failing to sway the hunter they decide to find the mushrooms in the middle of the forest on their own. Anyway, Ethar's fucking woowoo, god juice, lamp is guiding us towards the item Lifebringer, the scythe that Caldera owns. We are hoping that the scythe is with Caldera.   I have a feeling that Caldera has cold feet, not sure that it's a metaphor or literal. I uttered the phrase, "How did we fall so far from god?" as we bumble through the woods. Ethar casts Haste on Omar who is now suffering from the zoomies and we find Hurm sweating a little too much to be considered pedestrian.   Oh we found Caldera and Sylvar! Running up to reach them I suddenly find myself beside a spectral entity on a ghostly elk who passed through me sapping me of my strength. Sylvar, with Caldera in the same saddle, ride bravely towards the ghost trying to strike it and passes through the undead. And rides on through. Doing no damage and continues to ride away. Soon later that strange tree with the skull head appeared and the two presumably undead creatures did battle. During the confusion our group and I took the time to escape. Feeling weak it was a relief to finally get some rest. In the morning we decide to gather our things and take off. Caldera is looking really agitated. I guess this is hard to define given his regular state. It's like a different flavor on angst than usual. He verbally dressed down Sylvar after him offering Caldera a lift on his elk; could it be the addiction to the mushrooms or is Caldera struggling with adolescent desires that are beyond his control? Anyway Omar created a spell that allows us to rest in the cart comfortably.   I'm happy we are finally heading to Berem.

Mushroom Madness
Automon 23rd

Omar, myself and our noble friend Aurnel Hartcaster woke up at Sylvar's family estate feeling fresh as a daisy; the rest of our companions did not have the greatest of wakings... Half our group at least are suffering from some kind of withdrawals from a mushroom they encountered in the cave we were recently in. As far as we could tell they are all experiencing things very differently. Regardless at least we are in a very comfy....castle? l'hotel? palace? It's hard to say as it is intertwined between massive ancient trees; it's very different than other royal homes that we have visited before and far different from the monastery where I'm from.   "I'm strolling around in a breakfast dress" ~ Omar   On a lighter note, literally, the sun has finally come out after over a week of darkness. Sylvar also dawns a breakfast robe. Unfortunately the culminating of several people dealing with substance issues in toxic ways boil over into a 4 way argument, infighting and calling out each others family/lack-there-of. Omar leaves realizing our friend Hrm had left the room with a pitcher of water. I end up watching Caldera trying to trip Sylver while I keep eating strawberries.   "I'm too fancy to have any fucking feelings about mushrooms!" ~Caldera mimiccing   Sylvar was being a bore so and I made a comment to him and his sibling that without our help they wouldn't have their children back. I believe Sylvar took that comment personally.   As Caldera and I were in the bathhouse when a guard entered demanding that I be escorted out of the estate. Obviously aware of this situation he is in decides to emerge out of the pool. Naked. Refusing to dawn clothes I march my way down to my cart escorted by several guards and being trailed by Caldera. Omar must have figured out something was wrong and used a sending spell to contact me. I respond as follows:   "Hey Omar, it's Fitz. I am being held captive, do not believe the naked body double outside, send help."   I love Omar as a dear friend but I needed to have a little more fun with the ruling body of Sylvar's estate before we make haste and flee. The party gathers together but Sylvar and I continue our argument which boils over. Sylvar draws his rapier on me, he kept speaking at me but I just smiled; Sylvar was still going through withdrawls and I delighted in pressing his buttons. Honestly I'm sure I did insult his family's honour but I honestly couldn't justify their answer for their inability to track down their missing children. Something just seemed off. Nevertheless goading Sylvar was probably a step too far in his condition. Once our friend Ethar was collected by Aurnel we set back off on the road to Barrem.   Feeling less than pleased with myself my conscience really gets to me; I've obviously wronged a few of my companions and lashing out hasn't helped. Realizing my friend Caldera doesn't have anyone to room with at the inn we reside at over night I offer to pay their night and reside with them. Caldera kept looking at Aurnel for some reason, he looked really distracted by him which was odd, and rejected my offer. I just thought Caldera wasn't ready for my forgiveness yet but seemed to insist that it wasn't the case and accepted my apology but did not want to reside with me. So instead I offered to reside with Aurnel instead to apologize to him for being upset about the cart incident and make amends; he accepted the offer and hopefully we can break the ice and get to know each other better. Caldera looked beside himself but I'm not sure why. Aurnel and I set up our room and he litterally gets me to unpack my emotions but I didn't necessarily intend to. This noble kid is really calming for some reason but I'm clearly not ready to deal with some of the information that I've been bombarded with over the past month; it's been a complete exotic experience for me leaving the guarded culture of the monetary so even stepping foot in townships across the continent would have been an experience unto itself. Fearing that I would break down in front of this poor kid I decide to grab some wine and food and continue with a walk around the area.   Oh gods, Caldera and Sylvar are off to find a mushroom cave. On their own. They had a very absurd conversation about hearing each others words and rubbing of horns but the point being they are off to find a cave full of the same hallucinogenic mushrooms that has caused their addiction in the first place. I wanted to help them, I did, I wanted to tell them that what they were going to do was wild and stupid, but I know they wouldn't listen to me. Realizing that reasoning with them would be futile I go to Omar and Hrm to let them know what's happening and plan out what to do next.

D0 It With the Lights Off
Automon 22nd

Absolutely everyone here has darkvision aside from myself. I'm currently exhausted and I am running as hard as I can through a mushroom minefield where every fungus can erupt at any moment causing us to hallucinate. All the while we are trying to save Sylvar's twins; they are alive but currently being attacked by the same hidden figures that had assaulted us in the forest outside. Although trying to trap these pitch black fiends in magic seem to be challenging, we did manage to attack waylay their advance and beat down the monsters enough to allow Sylvar's siblings to retreat. After dispatching our assailants we ran out of the cave with great haste.   Omar created a tower for us to rest in for the day as we head back to Sylvar's home; we had a lot to talk about. Although he had a story to share about suddenly having siblings due to screwing around with the fabric of time with the aid of that god we encountered, I know I was upset that Omar didn't even think to say goodbye. We aired out a lot of pent up feelings we had held onto for a few weeks. Regardless, I'm really happy Omar is back. We pass out for the night and it is a relief that we are able to sleep soundly and comfortably in the middle of the woods. Oddly though, most of my companions are adamant about going back to that cave and I have a weird feeling it is because they want some of those mushrooms that made us inebriated. After some pickering I drop the issue and we have some Hero's Feast and head out.   Not long since embarking on the return journey we see a green dragon drake crash through the trees as it is fighting something. I ran up to have a peak and of course the creature it is fighting is a god damn hydra. Out of reflex alone we decide to fight the hydra, but for all we know that green drake probably pissed off the hydro for no reason. The fight doesn't last long, with the aid of our group the green dragon manages to slay the hydra with speed and efficiency. We finally return to Sylvar's home and I get the local alchemist who may know something about the mushrooms to break my friends' addiction.

God Juice, and other wild stories from my pilgrimage thus far

We started off in the Creepy Trunk Inn, in the city of Myrefell, and the region is on lockdown by the magistrates orders.   A little drunk from "Paladin's Bane" wine spirits, I played bagpipes to some degree of success. Suddenly a man rode up to the clearing outside, wounded, and choked out the words "goblins" and "centaur" before collapsing. As a group we decided to stride out of the city and investigate the weird attacks on the road.   The gang investigate the attacks on Traders Road through the woods. Goblins attacked and overwhelmed the group and a traveling merchant family, but only until centaurs rushed forward and fought back the creatures. After we fought back the hordes of goblins we were invited to the centaur camp. They treated us to mead and stories and their leader sent us on a mission to sack one of the goblin encampments.   Snaking through the woods we find the camp and rapidly descended and assaulted the goblins late at night. It was a struggle but we eventually dispatched the group of monsters and took the camp. The next day we decided it was best to rush back to the city of Myrefell for the festival.   Upon arrival the magistrate showered our group with extravagant gifts and hospitality. When we took our leave we were immediately swept up into the festival as the mob knew of our deeds almost exactly. The whole city was in festival and Omar wasn't having any of it and tried to escape. As he gave Fitz the slip, I decided to play a trick on Omar and rope in hundreds of people into a massive hide and seek event.   Caldera unfortunately had a rough night...   Magistrate Solania     "Avon's here, we gotta go"     Yhara of the Seasons - Guardian of Tupelo     Saw Seyloon fight Asmodeus and I played "Peggy the Whale"     Back to note taking after a basilisk filled mine.     We just picked up the reward from Tisren after investigating her mine, and right now the only lead we have is a whore working at the Siren song. Shayola should be working their in the morning and hopefully it isn't super busy.   However, as the night progresses, Caldera and Sylvar began to challenge each other to see who is stronger. Fitz takes the advantage and while everyone is distracted he rushes up the stairs and gets into Shayola's room. Aside from finding smut, explicit love letters and perfume. Then, Fitz looked through the desk to find a drawer with a false bottom. Inside there was a sending stone, but Fitz can't tell to whom. Without knowing more Fitz left the item, put the room back as best he could and took off.   There's been an attack on several noble families and our group wanted to investigate what is happening. To get an in with the nobles of Bleakburn I threw Ether through the second floor window of the town hall and Sylvar proposed our group to be guards to the nobility and track down the threats. We first talk to Hartcaster family and found out that the lords sun Aurnel was to be wed to the princess that was murdered on a boat. We also met up with Lady Azure and her family speaking of the same tasks. Also J Company is the mercenaries that Sylvar hired to make us look more professional.   Sadly we had another member of our group taken captive; it was Ethar. For whatever reason, Ethar was thrown in the dungeon beneath the town hall. Our group had to sneak and disguise our way into the basement. Unfortunately none of us have the ability to open locks so between I heating the metal and Caldera swinging away we broke into the dungeon and rescued our companion. We made a break for it and feel like we got away without being noticed of our crime or followed.   Hey, I own a cart? I forgot about this. We leave town quickly from Bleakburn to Berem using my cart (pulled by two donkeys: Slap and Cheeks). We leave town and 30 minutes out we discover that Aurnel Hartcaster, the son of the noble lord who has given up a quest, has stowed away in my cart to join us on our adventure. He wants to make sure we discover who is behind these noble murders and the slaver ring. Shockingly we get distracted by a red-neck, backyard, proving ring and Caldara joins in to fight challengers. It was close but Caldera manages to steal victory from her opponent. We collect our winnings, speak to some of the locals and head back onto the road to Berem.   Sylvar got stollen by a tree ent...can't really make that clearer. Tracked him down to a halfling logging community. It's a group of halflings that are here on contract from Bleakburn to gather resources. Belvon Gammridge and his brother Galvon, work for the city of Bleakburn supporting a logging deal at the southern edge of Tuppello. for the last 3 weeks they have been attacked constantly by denizens of the forests. They have been worried about creatures and "deamons" that patrol the woods; superstition stories were all that they were told before coming here. Farm: Marwrick, Danras, Irapher. They also discussed how Bleakburn was hit with a nasty plague 30 years back. Halflings took a massive hit to their population. Unfortunately, it came to my attention that it was common for families to leave their children in the woods if they came down with the plague; this was identical to what I was shown during my time with the goddess Yahara a while ago. She shown me being left in the woods by my parents because I was sick. I lost my cool. Revelations aside we brought the halflings out of the Tupello woods and sent them back to Bleakburn.   Although still reeling from the realization that I may have been left to die in the woods by my biological parents, we had an unfortunate encounter with a tree-ent with three skulls on it's trunk. The creature was dispatched speedily enough however it summoned two additional ents to fight in its stead and the battle caused several trees to catch fire. We fought hard but were unable to beat back these ents however the forest has come to their rescue and the crisis was averted. After saying our goodbyes to the murder-woods we get back to our cart and continue on our quest.   Finally we are starting to put distance between us and Bleakburn. It's been a few days on the road so far. I've started to make friends to Hurm, our odd companion who hasn't spoken much. His mannerisms have been strange, barbaric, but he has a friendly demeanor. After some conversation by the fire I've decided to help him with speaking common, etiquette and other aspects with integration into society.   However, joy bursts from my body as we are going to meet Sylvars family at long last. I can't wait to see what kind of people Sylvar's family are.     Caldera, myself and Arnel are now snooping around Sylvar's family home to find his room. We started snooping through one of the bedchambers. We found letters corresponding with Norwitch. Oh and lo we find an elk stuffy named "Arnold". Sylvar was none to pleased and after a considerable amount of teasing I relinquish the stuffy and we continue our investigation in the matter of the two missing siblings. One weird thing we realized is that the sky has been dark for about a week... some of us believe it may be related to travelers that have come down from the north. After 2 awkward meals with Sylvar's family we set out in search in the morning. I'm really confused why Sylvar's family is not too concerned about their missing family.         We finally happened upon a region of the forest late at night. Some of us were being attacked by creatures in the middle of the woods, but we couldnt see them. As Sylvar was speaking with a snake nearby, I happened upon a large green dragon named Bimirax and had a conversation with them. They mentioned that there was 2 twin Iladrin elves trying to hide from "hunters" in the woods nearby. As we continued searching we ran across an old friend; our dear friend Omar was searching in the same woods as we were for the twins. Unfortunately we had no time for being caught up in the moment as we are assailed by dozens of large spiders.       I've lost a bit of memory...ow my head. All I can see are clouds of mushroom spores, dank and slimy cave walls and Caldera is mad at me for some reason. I hear my name being yelled over and over so I run down the caves winding, uneven, pathways and managed to reconnect with everyone as we are attacked by invisible stalkers once more.
