Blight Origin

Began with a drought around Candlekeep. This drought came from a leeching of natural magics from the surrounding lands, so that the rulers of Candlekeep could create a weapon to harness the powers of the nearby Ocean. 

Princess Eris, leading the resistance at the behest of Matron Zara, does not currently know much more than that.

An individual known as "Cirithnien" seems to have something to do with the Blight's Origin as it was an Acolyte of his that posed as an aid to the rulers of Candlekeep.
