Cosokutaw (cos-o-koo-ta)

Cosokutaw are humanoid creatures that live in forested areas, including Bleiren, Netterechli, and Gerthonist, despite their appearance they are extremely docile and friendly creatures. They are startled easily and find comfort in stability as a result they can be found dwelling in solitude in the darkest reaches of the forests, only venturing out when needed. While they are omnivorous and require a level of meat in their diets they almost universally prefer sweeter foods such as berries and nectar. When befriending a Cosokutaw it is important to make yourself seem as little of a threat as possible, approach slowly and offer a gift of friendship, usually something sweet tasting, you may have to wait a while or try a few times before the Cosokutaw becomes comfortable but once they are you have a friend for life and they will offer you guidance, shelter, and assistance in your journeys through the forest.
Due to their longer and uniquely shaped necks the Cosokutaw have a complex vocal track that allows them to communicate through a variety of clicking, purring, chattering, chirping, grunting, bleating moaning, and hissing noises. Though two of their vocal abilities stand out above the rest, their ability to produce ear rapturing shrieks that they use to fend of any attackers, and being able to produce multiple sounds at once to create an extremely diverse array of combinations. Even through Cosokutaw are not a common species and are very selective about where they live meaning one can go nearly its entire life with out interacting with another they still are able to seamlessly communicate with each other, even with slight variations in accents.
Habitat : They dwell in forested areas usually taking residence in pre-existing and natural shelters such as caves

Diet : Passive Omnivorous hunter gatherers they tend to go out on small expeditions collecting plant based food from their environment that they store up and collect supplies of meat as and when they needed it and/or if an opportunity is available.
