Thumdar
Thumdar – Capital of the Dwarven Kingdom
Population: ~100,000 (approximately 70% dwarves)
Location: Deep within the oldest mountains in Eryndor, at the heart of the Stone Road network
Type: Subterranean capital city and ancestral seat of dwarven power
Thumdar is a colossal underground metropolis carved into the roots of the world. Its vaulted caverns stretch for over a mile vertically, lit by veins of glowing moss and enchanted fragment lanterns. The city echoes with the clang of forges, the murmur of prayers to Moradin, and the steady beat of dwarven boots across rune-etched stone. Unlike the clan-run cities, Thumdar is ruled directly by High King Durak Stonemantle, a revered sovereign chosen once per generation by the ten clan elders. Once chosen a king renounces his old clan and claims all dwarves as brothers and sisters. Known for his calm wisdom and unshakable resolve, Durak governs from the ancient Thronehall, housed in the high terraces of the King’s Reach.
