The Starforges

The Starforges

Population: ~9,000
Location: A remote volcanic rift known as Godscar Hollow, distant from the central mountain pass
Function: Artisan enclave, relic-forging crucible, and consecration site for sacred weapons and armor

The Starforges are the sacred anvil of Solara. A mountain settlement blessed and cursed with constant heat, where the most potent weapons of the Bastions are born. Nestled in a deep, elemental rift valley known as the Godscar Hollow, the town pulses with radiant energy, powered by molten veins and consecrated flame. This is no mere smithing village. It is a temple to divine warfare. Here, every item is more than a tool, it is an extension of the Solar Creed. Blades are etched with vows, shields with prayers, and armor with radiant oaths. The craftsfolk of the Starforges are known as Sunbinders—a caste of sacred artisans who blend magic, metallurgy, and religious duty into each masterpiece. The town is fiercely guarded. Outsiders are watched closely. The secrets of star-metal alloying, sunfire tempering, and soul-binding enchantments are treated as state-level mysteries.

Leadership

The forge-town is overseen by Forge-Canon Helvar Rimebraze, a battle-scarred veteran turned master artificer-priest. Once a frontline commander for the Dawnward Legions, Helvar lost his left arm in a border war and had it replaced with a radiant-forged limb powered by divine flame. His leadership is absolute; his forge rituals mix military cadence with scripture. Helvar answers only to the Highlord of Valor and serves as the final approver of all relics bound for the Legions, Skyborne, or elite orders. His temper is legendary. So is his loyalty.

Districts of the Starforges

The Crucible Chain:

A ring of forge halls, each focused on a different material or divine source. Includes the Forge of the Ninth Ember (star-metal), the Solvault Crucible (radiant armor), and the Cinder Choir Furnace (chant-based weapon shaping). Smith-priests perform their work to hymns that both harden steel and burn heresy.

Emberhold:

The main residential quarter for Sunbinders and their kin. Blackstone homes sealed against the heat. Cooling fountains enchanted to shed divine light like mist. Oaths of silence and reverence are required in public spaces.

The Anointing Vaults:

Underground sanctuaries where newly forged relics are consecrated. Visited by Legates, commanders, and Highlord emissaries to receive bound arms. Not open to the public—those who enter without permission are branded or disappear.

Solmarch Landing:

A small, fortified docking plateau used to bring in refined ore and carry out finished arms. Managed by the Flamegild Guard, a specialized unit of relic-armed wardens. Also serves as the only entrance for outsiders—and a checkpoint thick with divine wards.

Tone and Reputation

The Starforges are sacred, but not peaceful. They are a place of fire, oath, and glory earned in sweat and searing light. To live here is to serve the flame. To leave is to do so in armor that glows with the light of righteousness—or in ash.

“We do not craft weapons. We awaken them.”
