Kryzath is the Dominion’s largest military stronghold, carved into a fortified mountain ridge. Built for endurance and intimidation, the city is layered with bastions, watchtowers, and siege platforms. Blacksteel walls and obsidian defenses guard the city’s perimeter, each defense prepared to deal with enemy archers and from within, disciplined warbands march in perfect formation. Every road leads to training fields or armories. there is no wasted space. The Legion answers from here.
Districts
The Iron Marches
Kryzath’s central parade grounds and strategic plaza. Massive formations drill here daily. Bronze statues of past generals and Legion martyrs line the square, casting long shadows across the cobbled paths. Duels, promotions, and court martials happen here under public gaze. it is clearly visible from the Sylvandor republics boarder.
The Crucible Pits
Duels of honor, punishment arenas, and trial-by-combat rites are held in this brutal ring of stone amphitheaters. New Legion recruits are baptized in blood, and criminals prove their worth or perish. The largest arena, The Maw, houses mass combat trials watched by city leadership.
The Legion Forgeworks
A maze of foundries and construction yards producing swords, shields, siege engines, and shard-bolts. Flame-belching chimneys and blast-proof walls protect workers from Fragment-flare detonations. Kobold engineers and dragonborn smiths labor side by side, building Dominion might.
Draconic Legion Academy
An elite military school training commanders, strategists, and frontline shock troops. Entrance trials are brutal, and failure carries scars. Its outer gates are shaped like a dragon’s open maw, symbolizing war’s embrace. Graduates wear crimson cloaks and silver-scaled bracers.
Leadership and Key NPCs
Scale Bearer Kravel Vorrask – Crimson-scaled dragonborn general and Kryzath’s representative to the Conclave. Commanding and severe, Vorrask speaks in tactical maxims and treats military failure as spiritual weakness. His shardsteel spear, Blood Oath, has never broken.
General Ysarka Flamegut – A black-scaled tactician who leads Legion deployments beyond the city. Prefers silent observation and lets formations speak louder than words.
Drillmaster Grottik Surescale – A leathery kobold with a voice like a warhorn. Known for breaking even seasoned mercenaries into submission. Former Legion hero now turned academy legend.
Quartermaster Vronkik – A twitchy kobold with a precision obsession. Oversees all weapons production. Infamous for arguing with himself mid-sentence while doing mental inventory.
Culture
Kryzath respects only discipline, duty, and victory. Citizens rise by perfect adherence to protocol, and even children march in rhythm. Any show of laziness is met with public reprimand, and every citizen has served in some Legion capacity. Strength is valued, but precision and planning are sacred.
Mercenary Organization
The Ash Bringers– A renowned siege-breaker unit based in Kryzath. Led by Vashal the Blackened, a silver-eyed kobold whose burns tell stories of past victories. They are elite, brutally effective, and completely loyal to the Dominion.
