Eristhenal is the elven city of learning, philosophy, and arcane innovation—built upon a series of cascading cliffs that stretch down to a stunning lake. Eristhenal is known for its spire-topped towers, silver-tiled rooftops, and sprawling terraced walkways, the city’s aesthetic is an elegant blend of intellect and artistry, but the waterfalls leaving permenant rainbows over the city captivates visitors.
Unlike the other elven cities, Eristhenal is cosmopolitan, home to a significant population of arcane scholars and artists of many races. Its residents value logic, education, and controlled experimentation. The city is also home to the famed Moonspire University, a magical academy whose faculty includes planar scholars, illusionists, and diviners whose insight shapes the elven nation’s arcane development. Eristhenal contributes heavily to the arcane policies debated in the Vita Forum, sending two senators who often serve as thought leaders and theoreticians.
Districts
Moonspire Enclave
The academic heart of the city and the grounds of Moonspire University. Includes lecture halls, magical laboratories, ritual chambers, and the Moonspire Library, protected by a stasis field and floating sentinels. Students from across Eryndor come to train here.
Crystalwalk Falls.
An elevated clif over the city lets sevel waterfalls drain into the lake around which the city is built. The district is lined with enchanted lights and rotating sculpture gardens. This is the city’s social and diplomatic face. mages of Moonspire have harnessed the rainbows of the waterfall as a magical conduit for protection spells.
The Inkvaults
A district dedicated to magical scroll production, scriptoriums, arcane ink refinement, and enchanted document archiving. Copyists and magical scribes maintain the written memory of the elves here.
Ember Court
The headquarters of the Ember Wolves, an elite mercenary guild loyal to the elven government. This district contains sparring yards, contract houses, and neutral chambers used for political duels, elite recruitment, and covert diplomatic discussions.
Notable NPCs
Senator Therindor Eldarlas – A scholarly philosopher and advocate of arcane openness. Known for his long, winding speeches and habit of quoting from obscure planar texts during debates.
Senator Faeril Zelis – The youngest of the Eterna Voca, she’s a reform-minded idealist who supports access to magical education and elven transparency. A star among the university crowd.
Headmistress Selai Mistelis – Archmage of Moonspire University, sister to Senator Nerysa Mistelis. She governs the university with precision and quiet intensity, demanding excellence while encouraging collaboration.
Marshal Cylien Corvelis – Commander of the Ember Court, a hard-nosed tactician and illusionist. Known for his brutal honesty and tactical genius, he often serves as a neutral third-party in high-level negotiations.
