Nobility
The kingdom is organised on a more traditional nation-state, rather than the strong feudal system of Tethyr. The king maintains a small standing army while the Barron's are responsible for organising a levy in times of crisis. The Barron's are allowed to maintain standing forces of 200 however private armies and mercenary forces are limited to 50 men without a Royal Charter.
King Korox Morkann
The young king is a seasoned ex-adventurer however he has struggled with the administrative requirements of his position. He can be impetuous and headstrong at times however his mother is a tempering force. He is something of a ladies man and shows little sign of settling down and fathering some heirs, to the dismay of senior members of his court. He has the respect of the military, personally training many of the recruits, and full support of his Barron's and the general populace.
Baron Jivam Tammsell of Impresk
A younger half-elf who survived the Tehyrian purges, his skills as a woodsmen and hunter keep him in good standing with his subjects. He has maintained lines of communication with the elves of Shilmista and has defended the north against giant incursions and the plots of Talona worshipers.
Baron Minsc of Caraleath
Many underestimate the brutish, brooding Baron of Caraleath but he is remarkedly insightful. He generally leaves the management of the Barony to his wife Dynaheir, preferring to spend his time hunting down beasts, such as wyverns, gryphon's and owl bears that get too aggressive.
Baroness Laxaella Bronshield Tannistan
A senior priestess of Helm, Lazaella who still mourns the loss of her elven husband Rysodyl Boughstrong at the hands of the Goblin King Ertyk Uhl. She buries herself in her duties, raising her twin sons, protecting the south and maintaining the garrisons.
Barron Purdun, “The Firefist”, of Ahlarkhem
His calm, steady, diplomatic demeanor is in contrast to his fiery name and reputation. A renowned sorcerer, he is married to Princess Dijara Morkann, the younger sister of the king and together, they are the king’s most ardent supporters.
