Erillor

Errilor sits like a pearl on the dark velvet of the cosmos, motionless and immovable. The realms and planes of the universe arc silently past, exerting their influence on the planet below them, orbiting mechanically or streaking past like comets. The days, seasons, and even events of Errilor are linked directly to these heavenly bodies.   The sapient species of this small world are varied, ranging from the high intellect of the Elven Achademiarchs, to the bestial primordial minds of the Cascusine creatures. At the moment, the rivalling factions and empires appear stable and contented. However, in reality the nations of the world are balanced on a knife-edge, and the long standing walls and borders or society may come crashing down at the slightest provocation.   The landscape of this world is littered with relics of the past, mostly from the previous human expansion, though no one can recall or divine what it was that caused their subsequent fall. Many of these artefacts are powerful, and greatly sought after. Others of them can transport users to other worlds, though operating them can often be a challenge. A few (thankfully a very few) were sealed away deliberately, in the hopes that they would be lost and forgotten until the end of time.   It is in this world, at this time that hero's are born, and destinies can be forged.
