The Calendar

The Calendar

Redesigned in year 0, the calendar was created with the crystals in mind, primarily choosing to offer respect to the most powerful types of primal energy. There are 8 days in a week, 30 in a month, and 12 months in a year.

Months

There are 12 months in the calendar, however they have never been given any fancy names of significance. People refer to them simply as "first month" or "seventh month" etcetera. During year 0 when the days of the week were renamed in reverence of the crystals, thought was given to the months, however no conclusion was reached.

Weeks

No day of the week is seen as more important than the other. There are no days of rest, and there is no real concept of weekdays or weekends. Although the power of Holy and Dark is often considered more powerful than that of the other elements, there is generally no specific significance to the days which have been named after them.

Ultima Festival - 15/6 to 22/6

Celebrated in True Crysteria
On the first day of the festival of holy fire, residents of Crysteria gather to pray to the Crystal Mother and all of the crystal shards. Priests will travel around their home towns and cities, lighting torches with magical blue fire, torches that will continue to burn for a full week. This gives True Crysterian towns a gentle blue glow during the nights of this holiday. The blue fire symbolises aether magic, provided by the Crystal Mother as per the beliefs of Crystal Animism worshippers. On the final day of the festival, the priests trace their steps backwards, and put out the torches.
