Palace of Seisyll (Say-sill)
The Palace of Seisyll was the former royal residence of the Mornainn dynasty, abandoned during the eruption of Mount Eolán (Yo-lahn), and is now owned and managed by the Vegard Institution. It is located on Drest, an island which is two kilometres from the Bight of Einar.
Purpose / Function
Summer residence. Moved government and court, making it the de facto capital of the realm.
Drest
During the height of the Mornainn's rule, Drest had been a peninsula. However, in the past centuries, the narrow strip of land connecting it to the northeastern coastline of mainland Isord has eroded away, leaving an island which is still shrinking; in fact, it is now a quarter of its size 100 hundred years ago, due to highly corrosive components from volcanic eruptions in seawater. The Institute has built concrete supports and wave protection to prevent the Palace and what remains of the great city of Drest from falling into the waves. The composition of the surrounding waters has given rise to a particular species of salmon, called the Drestian Red, which is renowned for its exquisite taste and ability to fly in the air for brief periods of time (with the longest record of two minutes).Remove these ads.
