Nemesis

Goddess of Vengeance

"Mortals have an uncontrollable need to bring equal or worse fates upon those who have wronged them, even if it risks their own lives. Gods sway mortals at every moment in their lives. Eros causes love, Phobos and Deimos cause fear. Nemesis is the Goddess of Vengeance, and she brings it upon herself to cause suffering to those who have brought misery to others." ~Church Paratir, Grand Archivist of the Authenian Archives.
Nemesis is the daughter of Nyx and Erebus, Night and Darkness. She is Revenge given form and is both feared and revered by many. She is not worshiped by those who are happy, only those who have faced injustice pray to her, and the only ones who carry her sigil are her warlocks.
"Everybody likes revenge, but when it is given form? Mortals finally see it for what it is. A wrathful force that cares not for the safety of itself or those who are obsessed with it." ~ Archimedes Church, Director of the AAC and Project Freelancer.

Tenets of Faith

An eye for an eye. Those that harm you should be harmed in return. Those who cause unjustified pain should be ready to be on the receiving end of similar suffering.   Determination. If your enemy managed to injure you, nothing should be able to stop you from returning the favour. It matters not if your path is treacherous or dangerous, no one should be able to wrong others without facing retribution for their sins.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Nemesis takes the form of a tall, muscular woman with pale skin. She has glowing blood red eyes, long, wavy dark red hair and two large crimson wings with glowing embers on the tips of her feathers. A feint red glow emanates from Nemesis' very being, occasionally accompanied by a heatwave.

Special abilities

Merely being in the presence of Nemesis tends to make mortals have vivid recollections of any misdeeds they committed that they have not answered for, often accompanied by feelings of shame and guilt.

Mental characteristics

Intellectual Characteristics

Nemesis is highly practical. She cares little for tradition, ego or common decency and etiquette. Nemesis is driven by her goals, not societal constraints. Nemesis does not get swayed by begging, and she has never considered mercy to be acceptable.   Nemesis is incredibly determined, once she has spotted an injustice, she will not rest until the evildoer is punished accordingly, and she cares not about the difficulty she or her warlocks will face bringing her divine punishment to their quarry.

Morality & Philosophy

Nemesis believes that no one should be able to wrong someone else without consequence. She believes that the only way to right a wrong, is to inflict equal suffering upon the wrongdoer. Nemesis sees every wrong committed as a beginning to a story, that must be ended with a mirrored response to the original injustice.

Personality Characteristics

Savvies & Ineptitudes

Nemesis is rather clever when she faces a martial issue. She often gives her warlocks crucial information that makes dealing with stronger forces much easier. She often spots weaknesses in her enemies, or potential advantages that her warlocks can gain.

Virtues & Personality perks

Nemesis cannot be swayed from her convictions. It matters not to her if she receives threats, bribes or begs for mecry, Nemesis will do as she pleases. This stubborn nature makes Nemesis terrifying to most mortals, as they see no way to escape or appease her wrath.

Social

Contacts & Relations

There is no organized religion for Nemesis, but she does have several warlocks who have entered pacts with her. Most of which came into her service seeking power necessary to enact their own revenge. In return for this power, she sends her warlocks on missions to punish those who think that they have escaped the responsibility of their actions.   Nemesis is occasionally contacted by the Olympian Gods as well as the Chthonic Gods, whenever they have been enraged by a misdeed and need someone to punish the mortal responsible for it. While she is aware that they try to use her as a pawn, she cares not as long as she agrees that the mortal in question deserves punishment.

Social Aptitude

Nemesis is rather blunt and straight forward. She cares not for social etiquette or what others think of her. She cares for little outside of punishment and retribution, to the point where she normally only speaks to others if it will help achieve either of these two things.   Nemesis can be rather intimidating, both from her appearance and her sheer confidence. Her temper also instills fear within the hearts of wrongdoers. Nemesis barely manages to control her rage, and those that can sense her barely concealed wrath often become a trembling mess.
