Frank Pióni

Frank Pióni is a life domain cleric and aspiring adventurer. Naïve and cowardly, Frank hails from the Authenian Republic, where he studied the anatomy of humanoids. Driven by a desire to heal others, Frank refuses to resort to violence against fellow humanoids, but will begrudgingly fight animals and supernatural entities, if only to ensure the wellbeing of others.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Frank Pióni is a young human male, with short slightly messy black hair and dark blue eyes. His skin is pale, he appears rather small due to is slightly below average height and his well below average weight. Judging by the length of the straps on his armour, Frank had to tighten it as much as possible in order to make it fit.

Apparel & Accessories

Frank wears a light set of leather armour, which is a dark brown in colour. The vest is made up of horizontal rows of leather, with straps on each row to ensure that it is tightened to the correct size. The wristguards of the armour are held together with lace, tightened onto the forearm. The leg braces cover the outer thigh and the front of the shin, tightened with adjustable straps. Underneath the armour is a simple grey tunic and brown trousers. Over his armour, Frank wears a dark purple cloak.

Personal history

Frank Pióni was born in the Authenian Republic in the year 1300. His family lived in the city of Arcadia. Frank was a quiet child, and had few friends in his early years. When he was 12, his younger brother and him went into the woods to search for satyrs, nymphs and other fantastical creatures. They found no magical creatures, but instead a half-starved lone wolf found them. The beast mauled Frank's brother, but ran away after Frank rammed a particularly sharp rock into its ribs. Frank watched his brother bleed out and die, and was unable to do anything about it, scarring him for life.
A duller, more hateful child would swear to hunt all wolves to extinction, but Frank Pióni was no fool. He knew that animals were incapable of cruelty, and that this was no different than a natural disaster. For years, whenever Frank tried to sleep, he could still see his brother, only nine years in age, choking on his own blood. Frank blamed himself for his inability to save his brother, and couldn't bear to think about this tragedy repeating itself. Frank knew that he could not become strong enough to prevent mortal injuries from occurring to others, but he could dedicate his life to healing others.
Frank spent years studying the anatomy of the mortal races of Eregost, and how to best attend to any injuries they faced. While Frank Pióni could now deal with lesser injuries and potentially save lives, he was not satisfied. He wanted to have access to divine magic in order to be able to heal others at a supernatural rate.
Frank Pióni tried to join the Church of Apollo, but was turned down as their numbers were too high. Frank travelled across the Authenian Republic, and then the whole of Eregost, but was refused from each church either due to an already full number of members, or due to a difference in motivations between him and the church.
In the year 1325, Frank Pióni finally found a god willing to accept him and give him the power he so desperately desired, and ever since then he has been wandering Eregost, healing the sick and wounded.

Education

Frank Pióni learnt about the anatomy of mortal races from the AAC. He spent years there, learning about the inner workings of the body. He also learnt a small amount of anthropology and learnt several languages.

Mental Trauma

Frank Pióni cannot bring himself to harm another mortal. While this is mostly for ethical reasons, whenever there is the blood of a person on his hands, he cannot help but think of the first time his hands were covered in blood, as he knelt before his dying brother.

Frank Pióni is a pacifist and is horrified by the idea of hurting someone, deserving or not.
Frank believes that good or bad, everyone deserves a chance to live, and that anyone in need of healing deserves to be treated.

Frank Pióni seeks to prevent as many needless deaths as possible, and will do anything to accomplish this aside from spilling the blood of others. Be it healing the sick and wounded, looking for supplies for the impoverished or trying to act as an agent of peace, Frank will take any job that will have a positive impact on the world around him.

Savvies & Ineptitudes

Frank Pióni is studious and well-read man and former student of the ASC. He is well versed in history, anatomy and zoology. He is incredibly knowledgeable on the various diseases and conditions that can be found in Eregost, and the many suitable treatments for these afflictions.
Frank Pióni has studied the occult to an extent, and is aware of many supernatural entities and the nature of magic.
