Erdema

A low-fantasy setting based on the concept of an alternate universe earth created by the white witch Natalya.   Geographically the planet resembles predictions of our earth roughly 150 million years in the future. The human population evolved hundreds of thousands years ago from discarded clones of Natalya, and certain women carry the extremely rare recessive gene for magic. A sufficiently advanced mage can form a symbiotic relationship with what remains of Natalya's original body and mind in order to become a witch, gaining immense knowledge and power at the cost of her sanity.   Up until 180 years ago, most of afroeurasia was under the rule of the Riadon Empire, which fell due to a massive civil war. Now the two largest nations left where the empire once stood are at war trying to rebuild the empire with their respective nations at the center. To gain themselves an advantage, the western nation of The Meld has begun a secret military program to use young mages, essentially ticking timebombs, as elite soldiers.
