Session Report 97

General Summary

Before the Muskrats hit the hay, they watched Nihanas tattoo Tazmeth. The process proved to be excruitating for Tazmeth. The searing hot needles burned his flesh leaving the portrait of a devil cloacked in flames behind. Nihanas placed small infernal runes imbued with magic on the first layer of the tattoo to provide the necessary magical power. Small wisps of flame kicked up from the tattoo and Tazmeth could feel the heat radiating from the tattoo. Tazmeth felt significant power pulsing throughout his body. Exhaustation immediately gripped Tazmeth and he needed to rest. Each of the Muskrats retired to their bedchambers to rest. Each found a different visitor waiting for them. Cambio met his old friend Malar in the form of a cat. Malar urged Cambio to consider the offer by Tritemeus and choose to work with him to fight the Achivelli. Dami met Mephistopheles who warned her that he would never let be free from him and that she could not change as a person. Finally, Itzal met a messenger sent from Vashnaya who reminded him that the fey lord would be willing to assist him in his battle against the Achivelli. After each of their visitors, the Muskrats crawled into bed and rested up for the activities the following day.
The next morning the Muskrats headed to the banquet together to celebrate the Nine Trials and continue lobbying for favors. This banquet was held on the rooftop of the Wrath-Spike and thousands were in attendance. Each of the Muskrats pondered the offer Tritemeus had made the day before. At the banquet the Muskrats spoke to Tritemeus once again regarding the offer. Itzal led the way with the conversation and evaluated the options that the Muskrats had. After some pondering he concluded that the Muskrats did not have much else of a choice. Tritemeus was offering what Itzal believed to be a clear path to victory against the Achivelli and that Tritemeus himself would be defeated because he promised to seal himself away to prevent the Cursed of Asmes from awakening. The Muskrats accepted the offer and planned to serve as security when Tritemeus and Mizanoros traveled to retrieve the Horn of the Weave Master from the Oubliette. 
The festivities turned soured when the dark smoke filled clouds parted and a massive red moon appeared. Hot, sizzling rain of blood began to fall and severely burn the fiends. The weaker fiends such as imps were immediately killed and the more powerful fiends fled into the inner chambers of the Wrath-Spike. In the sky, a portal had opened and thousands of angelic-winged creatures began to pour out. These creatures' wings were black rather than the traditional white. The Muskrats knew that the Blades of Purity had finally arrived. A moment later, the Commandments arrived led by Anathema. Three flew directly for the Muskrats while the remainder led by Anathema chased after Mizanoros and Tritemeus.
