Session Report 96

General Summary

After defeating the champions of the Nine Trials the Muskrats were led to Mizanoros' private box. He congratulated them on their victory and the impressive show they put on display. Especially Itzal's use and loss of Wish. The Muskrats were surprised to see Mayathangi and Tritemeus present. The group was then led to the hall where the banquet in their celebration would be held. Along the way, Nihanas thanked the Muskrats for their efforts and told Tazmeth that he had earned his tattoo, but for the moment he had to lobby Mizanoros for the souls lossed in the arena. JamJam told the Muskrats that he had made an incredible sum by betting on the Muskrats and was planning to lead an incredibly luxurious lifestyle after the festivities died down.    Once in the hall, the Muskrats saw a room with massive ceilings built from large tinted glass panes. Black iron was the primary material used to construct the hall and had been expertly carved to create intricate designs depecting the city at every turn. At the far end of the chamber, a door fit for a giant, that had a carving of Mizanoros in it, led out to the sprawling terrace that overlooked the northern half of Magmarath. Upon entering Dami had an uneasy feeling that something evil nefarious lurked in the hall, but she was unaware what it was. The Muskrats were settled into their seats. Cambio and Itzal were seated directly next to Tritemeus. Tazmeth and Dami were seated directly next to Mayathangi. On the way to their seats, the Muskrats recognized Cornelius Vanderwallen. He was locked in a heated discussion with a tortle. Once seated Mayathangi attempted to make plesantries with Itzal and even offered to give him his items back for his soul. He politely declined. The conversation then turned to her impending marriage with Tazmeth, who informed her that he must wait until he is 35. The immortal archdevil seemed unfazed by having to wait a few more years for her husband. A shiver went down Tazmeth's back.    The conversation then picked up between Tritemeus, Cambio, and Itzal. Tritemeus made a proposal to the Muskrats. Tritemeus needed security to protect his escape route because he was planning to delve into the Oubliette to retrieve the Weave Master's Horn. A magicala artifact that is capable of nullifying magic that transcends the 9th level spells that mortals are typically limited to. Tritemeus intended to retrive the Horn and break the bond between the Achivelli riders and their dragons. He believed that this would effectively cripple them and usher in the age of freedom that he so desperately desired. He explained that the artifact he had bonded himself with would soon be born using his body as a host. He intended to seal himself in the Oubliette after using the Horn to prevent mass destruction. Itzal saw the merit in his plan. Cambio however had doubts. He felt that Tritemeus lacked his usual confidence and he believed that his father had doubts about the plan working. Cambio could smell the desperation even though he was no cat.    The conversation with Tritemeus died out and the Muskrats turned to some miscellaneous matters. Nihanas had successfully retrieved Counter Saval's soul in negotiations with Mizanoros. Meanwhile, Itzal and Cambio began discussions with Cornelius Vanderwallen and a tortle named Qonog, who was a wizard and studied under an unnamed master in Galadagos. Qonog invited Itzal to visit should he ever be in the area. With the banquet dying down, Tazmeth left with Nihanas to begin the tattooing process and the others returned to their rooms in preparation for a full day of festivities the following day. As Dami left the hall, her vision turned black. She was locked in a small chamber with barely any room to turn. The walls were heavily rusted and she could hear screaming voices outside. The sharp sound of scratching at the walls echoed through the chamber and small cracks in the walls formed. Blinding light poured in and before she could look through the cracks her vision returned. What had the visions meant? Dami wasn't sure but she was sure she would discover it soon.
