Session Report 77
General Summary
Ulthe wiggled the harpoon stuck in Tazmeth and with Tazmeth took a final breath and his struggle ended. Rest of the Muskrats rallied after the death of Tazmeth and renewed their attack on the wounded and blinded Ulthe. Ulthe regained her vision that was damaged by the wall of light and charged into the fray against the Muskrats swinging wildly at Dami. Dami answered back and swung Inferno's End deeply into the lizardfolk. The Spinosaurus' assaulted Sloan, threatening his concentration on the banishment of Ushaka. Sloan stood stout in the face of the dinosaurs and never allowed his concentration to waver. Cambio and Itzal followed up with a barrage of magic and soon Ulthe collapsed. Another Beast of the Lord of the Hunt had fallen. The Muskrats licked their wounds and continued on their way.
The Muskrats continued on their journey and it was not long before they were faced with yet another threat. A large goliath was sitting in the path, shouting about which one of the Muskrats he was going to choose as his prey. A massive golden lion loomed behind him. Carnivorous plants flanked the pathway and the largest eagle that the Muskrats had ever seen loomed in the distance. Dami immediately sprung into action to take down one of the plants citing her hatred for living things. Kazagath launched into a fury and charged at Shade to take him down. The Muskrats quickly learned that Kazagath had a substantial advantage over Shade and was nearly immune to anything he could do. As Shade struggled to battle him, Kazagath let out a blast of light that blinded Shade. A moment later, a wall of light appeared and blinded Cambio. Then Aedel swooped down unleashing a magical aura unlike anything the Muskrats had ever seen before. The magical aura struck at the Muskrats' minds and compelled them to act in certain ways. The Muskrats were quickly in disarray. Aedel picked up Itzal and flew straight up. Itzal was able to resist the aura and free himself. Calling upon his most powerful magic he cast Aedel into a maze, essentially, sealing him away. Voldujus approached and unleashed magic directly from his mind defying anything that Itzal had ever seen. Blasts of psionic energy began to strike out at the Muskrats threatening their mental integrity. With Aedel gone, however, the Muskrats had turned the tide of the battle. Shade struck out wildly at Kazagath carving him apart and sent him to the ground. With only Voldujus left, he quickly met defeat at the hands of the Muskrats. The Muskrats had only one threat left to face: the Lord of the Hunt.
The Muskrats regrouped after the battle with Kazagath and Voldujus, and continued on their way to the Lord of the Hunt. The Muskrats arrived at a fallen temple and had finally come face to face with the Lord of the Hunt. He issued a challenge to Shade to finally settle their feud and end the Wild Hunt. The battle promptly ensued. Dami charged right in and was met with Aedel being resummoned by the Lord of the Hunt. Aedel's presence was quickly nullified as Itzal trapped him within a mental prison. The Lord unloaded arrow after arrow into Shade forcing him to retreat behind cover due to the serious damage he was taking from the arrows. Sloan moved forward to face the dinosaurs that were charging forward. Sloan received help from Stryfe, who helped to tank hit after hit from the dinosaurs. Next, Dami succumbed to the Curse of Mephistopheles. Sloan fearing for his life was relieved when Dami charged directly at the Lord unleashing ferocious strikes at him that nearly knocked him down. Seeing an opportunity Shade darted in with the cold-wrought iron sword and stuck it between the ribs of the Lord. The Lord's body turned to ice and a shocked looked came across his face. The ice shattered and fluttered away into the wind. The remaining enemies fled. The Wild Hunt of Shade had finally ended.
