Session Report 71

General Summary

The screams continued and soon the Muskrats received an answer as to what was coming. Sloan appeared and the apprehension in the hall subsided when they learned that a fellow Muskrat was causing a ruckus. A couple more conversations picked up after Sloan appeared. Sloan himself spoke with Astrid Galaxia, a fellow cleric of Selune. She provided Sloan with another Moonstone for the Moonfire Aegis, and informed him that the Blades of Purity were gathering in Vladdingmore. Astrid had focused on the Blades of Purity for some time and was glad to share much of the information with Sloan. She told him that the Blades of Purity served a woman named Anathema, a former archangel who attempted to lead a genocide of fiends and during this war she became a being that was neither celestial nor fiend. She formed the Blades of Purity to continue her mission and selected 13 Commandments to serve under her. Zonraven being one of them. Little is nkown about her power except that when she bleeds on the ground, a black bush bearing berries grows. When eaten the individual gains great power that is both celestial and fiendish. It is believed that the Blades of Purity are gathering to battle House Vassa. Astrid believed that House Vassa has connections with a significant fiend, but has been unable to discover who it is. Before departing, Astrid informed Sloan that the last Moonstone was in the possession of House Vassa. 
Ambassador Nezar Selethen once again approached Cambio to receive an answer on whether the Muskrats would help find the two princes of Frostfire. Cambio quickly met with the Muskrats and they determined that accepting the job was their option. Cambio informed the ambassador that they would help him, and he gave them seven days to prepare before they departed. The final conversation of the night was between Cambio and King Gustav who discussed many subjects. Most importantly, King Gustav informed Cambio that Master Linil, Tazmeth's master, and the other monks were the only survivors of their monastery as they were attacked by the Achivelli. King Gustav feared that he may be next. Cambio pled to remain with the King to protect him, but he urged Cambio to follow through on his word to Ambassador Nezar, so they could get one step closer to holding the summit. Cambio agreed and the Muskrats left the Keep of Three Hammers. 
With a week of free time the Muskrats took part in various different activities. First, Cambio traveled to the Academy of Midreth in an attempt to obtain information for about the Frostfire Kingdom and cold wrought iron. The Academy of Midreth was a center of learning in Halvoy. The Academy was not known as one of the greatest institutions for scholarship on Drasdorden, but was the best that Hammerhide could muster. There, Cambio met with a rather old halfling scholar named Valzin Undersong. Valzin was a lover of tea, very hard of hearing, and lost his train of thought often, but he proved to be a significant help to Cambio. On the topic of cold wrought iron, Cambio learned that some giantkin in Frostfire had the power to conjure frostfire, an incredibly cold flame. This flame could be used to transform normal iron into cold wrought iron. The ability was rare among the giantkin as it was believed that the power was passed down from their frost giant ancestors. With that knowledge in mind, Cambio departed and continued his preparations for the journey. 
Dami had herself an adventure during the downtime. She visited the Salty Salmon, a tavern in the Upper Batgiand. There she met a leonin from the Pradera, who was missing a hand and was an excellent brewer of spicy alcohols. She enjoyed light conversation with him about his adventuring days and how he traveled east to settle down in Halvoy. She was also approached by a heavily burned man named Draxus. He provided to Dami an order from her master that she must eliminate all of the 13 Commandments of the Blades of Purity and Anathema herself. If she achieved it, she would be granted a significant power. She accepted the request and left the Salty Salmon with a new mission in mind. Finally, there was Sloan. He delivered a few heads to the local Temple of Selune, and provided a detailed report on what he learned regarding the Bastard's Court. 
With final preparations made, the Muskrats headed to Spratland Yard to meet Ambassador Nezar and to set out on their adventure.
