Session Report 70

General Summary

During the prompt audience with King Gustav, the Muskrats were informed that Hammerhide would hold a banquet honoring the Muskrats the following day. The Muskrats were charged with the task of preparing themselves for the banquet. This included acquiring the appropriate attire for the event. the Muskrats were recommended Master Kline's Fine Wares as the best location to visit for trending fashion. Before the Muskrats visited the clothing store they stopped into the Watery Pearl for a bath. For most Muskrats this was a normal bath house visit. Cambio had a far different experience. In the span of ten minutes he drowned, faked his death, was entombed in ice, unthawed by scalding water, and teleported causing a poor old tortle to fall into cardiac arrest. Cambio did leave the establishment clean, but at what cost?
After the fiasco at the bathhouse, the Muskrats returned to the Icefall estate to rest. Dami became incredibly upset and motivated to enact change over the regressive taxation that Halvoy imposes on the gondola rides to keep poorer individuals out of the Lower Batgiand. She vowed to speak with King Gustav about it. At the Icefall estate, Cambio caused a scene yet again when he spoke with his father Mongo. Mongo once again asked for money to fund his new life and Cambio expressed reservations about the arrangement, but eventually gave in and provided Mongo with the funds he requested. The group settled in for the evening and prepared themselves for their meeting with the infamous Master Kline.
Master Kline proved to be an eccentric man. He was in his late fifties and was dressed in a fine pinstripe suit. He was utterly disgusted with the dress of the Muskrats and knew that a significant challenge had presented itself. Master Kline helped each Muskrat pick out the appropriate garb. For most of the Muskrats they had never seen clothing so nice and were in awe of the clothing Master Kline made available to them. He worked tirelessly to have the clothing prepared for the Muskrats in time for their appearance at the banquet in their honor.
The banquet itself proved to be a spectacle once the Muskrats arrived. Most of the guests had already arrived by the time the Muskrats strolled in. The rushed nature of the banquet led to few individuals being able to attend the banquet, but some big players were able to attend. The Muskrats were shocked that so many had gathered to see them. Each of the Muskrats fell into conversation after a word by King Gustav praising the work of the Muskrats in slaying ten thousand men and fending off an archdevil. A summary of the conversations that the Muskrats had that evening follow.
The first notable conversation was with Lady Vassenia of Orenji. Orenji was the land of kitsunes and was a land that practiced strong isolationist and protectionist policies. Lady Vassenia was sent abroad to determine if diplomatic relations should be established with any nations. She also was to look for a possible partner for marriage to strengthen ties. But alas she had thus far failed to find anyone. Tazmeth had the honor of meeting Zerena Xestra the daughter of the Emperor of Eltenweiss. Tazmeth made a play at the princess but was shot down. He did learn that Zerena had a general distaste of the royal life and wanted a release from the responsibilities. Dami had the horrific fate of meeting Portier Dugona and Violet Nolom. Two poor nobles who had traveled abroad to try and establish new economic ties. Violet was given to Portier as punishment for her behavior. Portier was from a poor noble house in the Rocheland. Violet made an offer to pay Dami to kill her fiancé. Dami declined and Violet decided instead to cuck her fiancé to punish him.
Numerous Muksrats ended up stuck in the heated conversation with General Lord Van Greatsplitter, Lord Elvor Graz, and Lord Vurkun Glarnag who were debating geopolitical policies between the Morrand Alliance and Hammerhide. Perhaps one of the most notable encounters of the evening was Tazmeth reuniting with Master Linil, Zeya, and Krillin of the monastery he used to live in. He enjoyed catching up with Krillin his dear old friend. Zeya once again threatened Tazmeth. But Master Linil offered the advice that Tazmeth could find the answers to his questions in Tortuga. When pressed for elaboration Master Linil declined to add any additional detail. Later that night Cambio learned that that the monastery had been destroyed by the Achavelli and that Master Linil, Krillin, and Zeya were the only survivors of the attack. Master Linil had come to Halvoy to warn King Gustav that the Achavelli would be coming for him because of what they had done years ago.
Cambio had an interesting encounter with Lady Vifrima Blackflame who offered her hand in marriage to him. In exchange she wanted her family company, the Blackflame Armory Company, to have a seat during the summit. Her family wanted the opportunity to provide weapons to the members of the coalition if it should be formed to fight Tritemeus. Cambio listened to her proposal but was too nervous to accept the offer, especially, since he lacked approval from either of his fathers. But the most substantial conversation of the evening came when Cambio spoke to Ambassador Nezar Selethen of Frostfire. He proposed a new job for the Muskrats. If the Muskrats helped track down the two princes of Frostfire who had disappeared over a month ago, he guaranteed that Frostfire would attend the summit and that they may be able to provide the Morrand Alliance as well. Selethen explained that the princes had led an expedition to investigate the disappearance of many individuals in the eastern half of the country. They discovered gruesome mass graves littering the mountainside villages and towns. With the disppearance of her sons Queen Nelethe had fallen ill and Selethen made it clear that if anything were to happen to Queen Nelethe that Frostfire would collapse and would be unable to participate in a coalition to fight Tritemeus.
With the banquet in full swing, screams were heard outside of the hall and King Gustav was quickly removed from the hall. What was coming into the chamber?
