Session Report 7

General Summary

Redtail and Sam Urai looked down at their fallen friend Zasha. Her beaten and slashed body lay still on the cavern ground before them. Sauvek believed this body to be deserving of a more appropriate resting place and slung the corpse over his shoulder. The group decided to rest for an hour, some taking lunch or a little siesta on beds of moss. Sam Urai and Redtail both watched perceptively, yet Sam Urai was able to pick out the bolt as it clanged against the stone rock above. The group minus Sam Urai jumped to action and charged the direction of the bolt origin. Sam Urai himself took a strategic position on the ground and watched for any other range weaponry.   The perpetrator was none other than a sly Tabaxi, hoping to get the attention of the Muskrats. The Tabaxi was named Nightshade Skimpleshanks and he cordially invited the group into his hut all while making remarks about how filthy that other Tabaxi in the group was. The two Tabaxi traded barbs as the group came to better understand the cavern and who was housed within these damp walls. After a nice rap sesh the party headed out and found their way to an intersection of caverns.   Left or down, the choice was a difficult one, even with this new Tabaxi swearing to going left. Could the muskrats truly trust this new individual or is the Tabaxi leading them to ruin? Such a perilous choice, left or down. Philosophers, adventurers, sages, military commanders, all men fear the choice of left or down yet here the Muskrats were, faced with that exact choice. So they decided on left with half the party dissenting and heading downward in fashion. This expedition downward would have surely went to ruin if not for the eldritch blast of Cambio and the shelled defense of Itzal.   Sauvek and the others headed left, falling into combat against a whole tribe of bugbears and their goblin squires. Nightshade at once fled, leaving his new mates to be devoured by the horde of goblinoids. Some battles just can't be won surely, and retreat is always a measure of caution, one of wisom and safety. These may have been the thoughts Nightshade used to justify his act of cowardice or maybe he simply could not or did not care for the Muskrats. Maybe he sought these adventurers as pieces to be used in clearing out this cavern for his SINGULAR use.   Either way the Muskrats held strong as Kelgac and Sam Urai charged the gang and held off the horde until Cambio and Itzal could arrive, dealing damaging blows to the remaining goblinoids. While the fighting was wrapping up, Redtail went by stabilizing any allies who had fallen. Sauvek himself, though bloody and wounded, damaged a few foes, whipping Zashas body as a brute weapon of destruction. The goblins and bugbears dead, the party left the cavern and ventured back to Gormond. They met with Daimler and got their pay.   Payday had arrived and with it the arrival of news about a new adventuring group residing in town. This adventuring group calls themselves the Emerald Banner and they have been asking around about the Muskrats. Some elves and a guy with a fiery arm have marched on Prada and there was an attempted assassination on the high general.
