Session Report 64

General Summary

The Muskrats continued their journey to Wave's End, but found themselves in trouble along the way. First, the Muskrats were surrounded by creatures that camouflaged themselves as ships and had the cannonballs to prove it. The ships began to rain down explosive cannonballs. Deckhands met their death in the explosions and the Dami, Itzal, and Shade suffered terrible wounds when the shrapnel hit each of them. Shade retreated but he was overcome with the Curse of the Black Blood and transformed. A sleek black panther now stood where Shade was and the Muskrats had gained a ferocious beast in the battle. The ships started to deposit featureless humanoid blobs on the ship to overwhelm the Muskrats. In the fray Tev dug deep for power and unleashed a frenzy of attacks that rained down on one of the ships. With a massive final smash he drove the ship to the bottom of the ocean. Soon after the Muskrats finished off the other ships and the battle came to an end. 
During the battle the rudder of the Stone's Edge was damaged and the Muskrats had to send over half of the party below deck to help steer the rudder. Meanwhile, Cambio stayed above deck and watched as dark, black clouds began to move in the direction of the ship. A strong wind blew in and carried the strong scent of garlic with it. After a few moments Cambio began to hear whispers of "You did not think I would forget did you?" The Garlicle had finally come for revenge. Waves began to crash over the deck of the ship. The winds picked up and then they struck. Massive creatures made of kelp burst forth from the choppy waters and attacked the ship. More deckhands were the first to fall. Then they came for Cambio. Their kelp tendrils grasped him and reeled him off the deck of the ship. There he found himself in the stormy waters below with his fellow Muskrats below deck. With the battle beginning the other Muskrats started a frantic charge up from the bottom deck of the ship. When they emerged the tendrils came for them and one by one the Muskrats found themselves pulled by the kelp and separated. Cambio was pulled further out to sea but through genius thinking teleported himself to the crow's nest where be became the most feared snipers in all the oceans and seas. Shade discovered that the kelp could not harm him, and so he enjoyed a swim. Tev and Dami found themselves locked in combat with two of the kelp creatures and after dealing fatal blows they came to aid the other Muskrats. Dami, however, was quickly plucked from the deck and pulled into the midst of three of the kelp creatures. Dami downed a potion and with her breath sent out a blast of fire that streaked above the streaked above the water and burned the kelp. With the other Muskrats running, or for some swimming the kelp were quickly dispatched. 
The dark clouds of the storm cleared, but on the horizon a new danger appeared. Two large galleons with five sloops following behind each appeared on the horizon. As they drew closer Tev recognized both ships. They were not only ships he knew but ships he had once owned. The Widow Maker and the Silverado. They were captained by his old friends Ford and Afton. What surprises did the two old ships hold for the Muskrats?
