Session Report 44

The Muskrats entered a small valley of lava and charred rock. Shade and Cambio scaled up a cluster of rocks, getting a better vantage point over the entirety of the valley and the large monster of obsidian and lava that sat within it. Tev and his echo walked straight forward seeing if he can get a better look at the creature lurking within the central lava lake. Zonraven took the path right and began to cross a bridge standing over a creek of flowing lava. The lava continued to flow into the large central lake that dominates most of the cavern.
As Zonraven crossed the bridge he was ambushed by a creature of magma and obsidian who launched out from beneath the lava. The attack was so expansive that even Tev was caught up and injured by the creature of lava and stone. Zonraven however, was much worse off than Tev as the attack launched him tumbling off the bridge into the lava that flowed below.
In an instant Zonraven felt the lava melting the plate armor he wore. As the armor becomes a melted mess it began to fuse with the skin of Zonraven. The paladin thrashed helplessly in the lava as death becomes apparent to the zealous warrior.
Though it seemed Shade was unable to accept this fate and pulled the heavily injured paladin out of the lava with aid from some magic arrows the Tabaxi had on him. At this same time, Tev discovered that melee attacks against the elemental resulted in lava being sprayed back on the attacker. With his main attack option now useless, Tev had to rely on his eldritch blast.
While Tev and Cambio blasted the magma creatures, Shade began CPR on the now dying Paladin and was able to resuscitate the holy warrior. While Shade revived Zonraven the creatures surround the pair. With some quick teleportation spells Cambio is able to get the paladin out of the danger while Shade regroups with Tev.
Another party member took the place of Zonraven as Sauvek, who was late due to bowel movements, rushed into the battle just to realize he iwas now surrounded himself. With some punches the barbarian was able to realize that melee attacks hurt the dealer as much as the receiver. Sauvek scrambled to escape and meets up with Tev and Shade.
The trio launched arrows, rocks, and cantrips at the creatures of fire and stone while Cambio and Zonraven ran for their lives.
At one point a man of muscle and blood saves Cambio from certain doom, a man who calls himself Skewhur.
After a few rounds of this flee and return fire tactic, the Muskrats succeed in vanquishing all creatures within the cavern.
The savior of Cambio says a group is chasing him and that the party must move quick to avoid them. The Muskrats had no want to stay in this valley of death any longer and agreed with Skewhur on heading out.
Taking the western route the party ends up inside a laboratory of sorts. The Muskrats guide to the black wasteland, Ember, pipes up. She talked of her boyfriend's experiments and equipment and how this looked to be some of the same materials. Strange that the lover of this Ember left so much gear here. The party thinks on the matter and decides to tackle the question in the morning.
As they rest the Muskrats are rudely awaken by an odd smattering of humanoids. A woman of the party declares that Skewhur is her lover and that he needs to come with them. The Muskrats look at each other and shrug their shoulders, letting the mystery group of individuals take the sleeping Skewhur.
The Muskrats lay down once again and rest their heads, excited to take a long deserved rest.
