Session Report 31

General Summary

The small group of muskrats regrouped outside of the town and then shared information and devised a plan. Their plan was to sneak back into Gesvad, get into the Crypt, and figure out what the Iron Wastes were up to down their. Without any more deliberation, Itzal tapped into his magic craft and polymorphed Tev, and then Shade into an owl so they could undetectably glide right into the crypt. Itzal on the other hand thought thought his tongue was sly enough to negotiate his way inside the town, but he was undoubtedly mistaken. Needless to say, Itzal had to resort to using his magic to enter Gesvad and join Tev and Shade. The muskrats have now entered the town and snuck their way into the crypt to encounter a door with a thick layer of ice covering it from the hinge to the dead-latch. But, the party could clearly see the door had been opened recently, and the ice is cracked. So, the party indubitably opened to the door to see what mysteries lay ahead. The party found themselves in a very large and tall chamber, and inside the chamber was a 24ft tall statue and what appeared to be a magic circle. This was a statue of the demon lord Kostchtchie. The patron of rage who is known have outbursts over any infraction, even a small one. Interestingly Kostchtchie resides in a layer of the abyss known as the Iron Wastes. The portal was an attempt, presumably by the group of savages that call themselves the Iron Wastes. The portal was not even large enough to transport Kostchtchie, so its unknown as to what they wanted a portal for exactly. This type of portal was also using a kind of magic that needed sacrifices of strong life forces in order to work. The Muskrats had their fill with the crypt and decided it was time to head out. They exited and passed through the southern road and descended the cliff. Amongst the woods the party came upon a broken down shack, and inside an Elven woman was waiting, but she was waiting in particular for Shade. She spoke up and introduced herself as Winbella Ashbeam, a member of the court for The Lord Of The Hunt. Winbella assured Shade that The Lord Of The Hunt was pleased to discover that his bow was recovered by someone who seemed well in touch with nature, and He only wanted to know Shade more so that Shade could eventually be a part of The Lord's court. But, first The Lord Of The Hunt commands that the Muskrats end the blizzard to see whether Shade is worthy or not. Shade also shared some of his backstory with Winbella and then the Muskrats parted ways. Parting ways would soon be the near downfall of the Muskrats as they are ambushed by none other than the Iron Wastes. This was a long and tough battle resulting in the near death of Itzal and Tev. Giant ice wolves exhaled massive gusts of icy breath that chilled all of the party members to the core. The Iron Wastes themselves were wielding morningstars, but they were not as cutthroat as the wolves were. As the battle was coming to a finish there was one Iron Waste that had escaped into the blindness of the snowstorm. In conclusion of this the party regrouped and made some preparations for their journey to Vlaiddingmore.
