Session Report 30
The party leaves Historia and travel across the Kjempe peaks. The weather is tough and the travel hard yet thanks to Shade's skills with animals, the party was able to get a boar to do the heavy lifting instead of a party member.
After three days and nights of travel across the winter wasteland, the muskrats sniff out fires burning and happen upon a small mountain village. Before going in Tev and Cambio put on different faces. Tev as his alter ego Kiro and Cambio as Tev. The muskrats enter the town and go to the Inn for an easy night of rest in a bed instead of out in the cold.
The Innkeeper and his family consist of humanoid rabbits who get all too offended by rabbit jokes. The Innkeeper sets the group up with beds yet as he does he recognizes Cambio's current face(Tev's) and asks if Cambio has been here before. Cambio is able to pass off the recognition as a common human face.
With rooms secured, the muskrats head out to a local shop. While perusing the spice dealer's goods, Cambio and Tev get a suspicious feeling about the seller and axe him before he can axe them. Surprisingly, a little boy with the eyes of an eagle who has thermal vision, is able to spot the party committing the murder in six seconds. The boy is able to run away and tell the guards who instantly start to trot over. Cambio morphs into the store owner while Kelgac torches the body and Tev pretends to shop. The three are able to steer the guards suspicions clear of the three and explain what the kid saw as a shimmer of light.
Yet soon the entire muskrats party except Shade leaves town in a hurry as they realize the face Cambio had on was none other than the infamous terrorist Tev.
The three had all fled in different directions and had trouble finding their way to each other. Kelgac and Cambio were able to remain hidden in the frozen wasteland, gaining large amounts of XP in the process. Tev though could not handle the cold and made summoned a magic bonfire. A guard came 30 minutes letter investigating the plume of smoke.
The guard asked Tev to come with as they had his friend yet Tev is no hero and these travelers not his friends. He exploded the guards head with one magical whisper and then hiked back to town.
Shade meanwhile had been caught and now sat in a small stone room. A human male came in and gave Shade some details on the disappearances, and how the muskrats are now in the middle of the investigation. With no rescue in sight, Shade agrees to help the local ruler figure out who or what is behind the disappearances. The ruler gives Shade his leave to regroup with his fellow party members and discuss how they will move forward.
Tev watched for Shade on the outskirts yet never saw the Tabaxi. Tev decided to head into town sneakily and find the cart they came with and bail. Tev approaches the cart and sees Shade messing with some of the gear. Tev calls out to Shade, bringing unnecessary attention to himself. Tev does not notice and talks with Shade as the three guards near.
Shade says something about helping the local ruler with the disappearances but all Tev hears is his heart pounding as each step brings the guards he now sees get closer. Tev tells Shade to hide in a haystack which the Tabaxi does reluctantly. Shade is able to hide easily yet Tev's ass is just too thick to be hidden by mere straw and the guards find him.
Tev was no fool, go against a lord, and you are likely to find yourself strung. And if the lord cannot find the man who went against him, the lord will find someone else to string up and Tev had no intention of watching a show like that again. As Tev was found he whirled around and summoned his echo, attacking all three guards from behind. Tev downed each guard with a precise blow, shearing off the head of the last as the foolish guard raised his sword to block.
The three guard bodies fell to the ground in the stable and that same boy spotted the massacre, running off to alert the guards Assassins creed style. Shade and tev fled town with cart and boar right behind them.
