Session Report 114
General Summary
The arduous battle ended and silence reached each corner of the destroyed room. Unfortunately, the quiet was short-lived and the room filled back up with various members of the delegation. There was no time for calm or peace - clerics of Helm flitted around, trying to help whoever they could and soldiers carried heavy supplies. As the Muskrats tried to get themselves together, Cambio went to the nearest soldier and stopped him for information. The soldier shared that much of the Three Stones Monastery had been destroyed during their battle. While the Muskrats fought against Taragak and Aavanzon, other parts of the fortress had been simultaneously attacked. Although no one was sure who exactly attacked, it seemed as though the Achivelli had sent some of their lower ranks to further cause chaos. The other parts of the Three Stones Monastery remained standing even without the help of the Muskrats, and because of this, the delegation had quickly decided that it was the safest places for leaders to bunker down moving forward. With a few more words, Cambio let the soldier get back to his urgent work. Meanwhile, Dami tapped the nearest cleric she could find on the shoulder. After a few screams of horror due to Dami being faceless, the cleric introduced herself as Willies, the rookie leader of the small band of clerics who ran around. She wasn’t confident she could muster the intricate magic needed to reattach the face Dami held in her hands. However, Willies took Dami’s face, chanted some gnomish incantation, and her hands and prayer glowed with a golden light. New skin formed to meet Dami’s old skin and soon enough, Dami’s whole face had regenerated.
After the shock wore off, only preparation remained. The Muskrats knew the time to finally face their most fearsome foes was soon approaching. They were all given three months to prepare as they saw fit. With 50k gold in their pockets as a reward for the intense battle, Dami and Cambio’s first stop was a merchant. They stocked up for the upcoming fight with a massive amount of potions. With the remainder of their time, the recently wed Cambio tried to enjoy a short honeymoon with Lady Vifrima Blackflame at the Galapagos (but accidentally went during hurricane season), Itzal holed up with books as his body rested, Tazmeth disappeared mysteriously and Dami drank away her pain as she physically trained. The days grew shorter and shorter until the moment to jump into the portal and face the Achivelli arrived.
As the Muskrats reassembled at the Three Stones Monastery in order to cross the portal, they descended hundreds of feet below the fortress. Waiting for them by the portal were the faces of many of the travelers they had come across during their adventures. Daimler and Obsidian were the first to come forward and handed over a golden ring covered with slithering swirls which Daimler suggested would help Dami hit even harder. Next, Nub stepped forward and gave the crew a powerful Dragonscale Whetsone from a legendary copper dragon. Cambio’s dad Mongo came up and reassured his son as he gifted him some delicious Orostead iced tea to share with the crew. JamJam was next (to the delight of all Muskrats) and shared some of his typical coach wisdom. He was also kind enough to have made them special butter and biscuits, as well as lotion for Tazmeth. Up next was Vistara, who gave Tazmeth a shining Sentinel Shield, followed by Vistara, who carefully handed Itzal a rare and special feather to Itzal. The next person stepped forward gingerly and introduced himself as Hearsim - a distant relative of Dami who had been keeping an eye on her. He shared some tips and background on how to fight another family member, Readdia, and gave the crew a scroll of true resurrection. To Cambio’s surprise, the Garlicle was there and offered special Cloves of Lucky Garlic. Luckily, they were not made from his own body and simply cultivated by him. The Snow Queen also came with an offering of coldfire phoenix drafts. Lastly, and to the dismay of the crew, Patatraeya was the very last individual with an offering. He ignored the crew’s insulting comments and offered a very valuable item - a cubic gate. Should the Muskrats defeat the Achivelli, he was sure they could use the magical cube to get them back to safety.
With an overwhelming and concerning amount of offerings, the Muskrats somehow felt less sure than ever. However, this was no time to step back or doubt. They decided to jump into the fray as confidently as they always did in order to maintain world order and face their greatest enemies.
