Session Report 112

General Summary

On the first day of the summit, the Muskrats were led into an ornate chamber with intricate woodwork. A massive map was set into the center of the table and the chamber was also filled with rose bushes. The Muskrats along with the members of the other delegations began to gather around the table to meet. In total there was ten individuals seated at the table. Ambassador Nezar and a paladin of Helm, Overblade Utroth were at the summit to represent Frostfire. Followers of Helm were also providing security for the summit as a neutral force and were working with Frostfire to prevent any violence as they transitioned to democracy. High General Walga Palecaller and her Minister General of War, Arkol Voidfire were representing the Morrand Alliance. King Gustav and Lord Van Greatsplitter represented Hammerhide. The summit opened with an appeal by Cambio that the Muskrats wished to fight the Achivelli rather than Tritemeus, and that the Muskrats were in fact now aligned with Tritemeus. While the Muskrats spoke in possibilities, High General Palecaller once again requested that the Muskrats explain why the Achivelli must be defeated and why the proposed plan of the Achivelli should be rejected. The Muskrats struggled to sway the High General to their side until Ambassador Nezar jumped into the fray. Ambassador Nezar explained that he too was unsure why the Achivelli's plan was unfavored by the Muskrats, but Ambassador Nezar began to ask pointed questions to draw out pragmatic answers to sway High General Palecaller. As the conversation progressed, Ambassador Nezar cultivated a series of questions and answers that at a minimum convinced High General Palecaller that she should at least consider joining forces.    From there the summit went into phase two. The various sides had to determine what a possible coalition would look like. Quickly, High General Palecaller requested an amendment to the mutual defense treaty and a guarantee that Hammerhide and Frostfire would aid in the Morrand Alliance's civil war. Ambassador Nezar jumped at this idea since he had great fear that the nobles of Frostfire would resort to violence to prevent a transition to democracy. King Gustav requested that both, Frostifre and the Morrand Alliance, demilitarize within one hundred miles of their borders with Hammerhide. This launched a fury that the Muskrats had to calm down. After some wise words from Itzal, the discussions began again, but in a calmer sense. As it progressed, the security aspect of the summit transitioned to economic issues. King Gustav began to push for a trade deal with the Morrand Alliance in exchange for any military aid. The economic issues took over the second day of the summit and the sides worked throughout the night to have a deal ready for day three of the summit. The Muskrats made visits to the heads of state once again to discuss the progress of the summit. Before Dami and Itzal reached High General Palecaller's room, they heard shouting and someone threatening that she would pay for her defiance. When asked about what had happened, the High General explained that she had decided to be steadfast on economic issues and her reluctance to give ground could cost the Alliance the war. She blamed the testy Deputy Minister General of Commerce and Development that she was dealing with. Satisfied with her explanations, the pair of Muskrats left and prepared for day three.    Day three started with celebrations since the three sides had completed an agreement covering the various issues discussed at the summit. The feelings of joy were shortlived. One of the Helm guards began to clap and slowly approach the delegations. As he approached, his armor and uniform melted away, revealing a goliath warrior. Other of the Helm guards transformed, revealing six blood hads and an ancient bronze dragon, Aavanzon, the Anger of the Skies. The goliath introduced himself as Taragak, a member of the Achivelli and that he had come to put an end to their trivial attempt to stop the Achivelli. The Muskrats moved to protect the delegations and the Achivelli's forces attacked. Itzal yelled for the members of the delegations to gather around so he could teleport them to safety. As they moved, Aavanzon unleashed blasts of acid breath that melted everything in its path. Overblade Utroth narrowly survived the acid and a moment later had his guts ripped out by a blood hag. Itzal successfully brought the delegates together, save for Overblade Utroth and Arkol, who were left behind. Dami moved in to battle Taragak. Taragak rained blow after blow down upon Dami. When she was sufficiently weak, he looked her in the eyes, and said "We've been watching you and I was sent to deal with you." Taragak raised his right arm and acid formed around his arm, growing until it was towering over him. He brought his now, gargantuan fist down upon Dami and the Muskrats could only watch in horror as Dami was melted. The sound of her axe striking the ground rang throughout the hall. The Muskrats had their backs against the wall.
