Session Report 107
General Summary
After entering the hatch the below the seashell stool, the Muskrats continued their journey to find Quonog. In the cramped chamber, the Muskrats discovered draconic text threatening the destruction of any who may enter. The Muskrats disregarded the message. Surely, it was not itended for them. Soon they came to an exit and exited into an open expanse of water. Glowing, tropical flora dotted the pitch black landscape. Bioluminescent fauna swam around the Muskrats. Notably, there were glowing jellyfish gently bobbing up and down in the calm water. The Muskrats found what appeared to be a path. The Muskrats made the choice to follow the leftside of the cliff. They followed the cliff until they came to square cut stones placed into the ground. They made the choice that the stones represented a path and they should follow it. As they progressed down the path, the population density of the glowing jellyfish increased.
At the end of the path, the Muskrats came to a massive hole near a cliff. A large creature's skeleton was draped over both the edge of the hole and the cliff. As the Muskrats took in the scene, bubbles as large as any of the Muskrats began to burst forth from the hole. A moment later, a kraken erupted from the hole. The Muskrats found themselves in another deadly situation. Dami and Tazmeth immediately charged the kraken, while Cambio and Itzal attempted to stay back. Along with the kraken, multiple coral drakes appeared. Itzal was shaking in his boots. As Dami approached, one of the kraken's tentacles slammed into, coiled itself around her, and then flung her far away from the Muskrats. As Tazmeth drew close, the kraken expelled a blast of ink that shrouded that itself from the Muskrats. While within the ink, Itzal was suddenly struck by a tentacle. He couldn't help but question how the kraken could accurately know where he was. As Cambio and Itzal began to fight the drakes, Cambio was grabbed by the kraken and flung over the top of the kraken to the other side. The Muskrats were rapidly being separated.
The Muskrats focused their efforts on eliminating the drakes, but more and more of them continued to appear. Dami and Tazmeth switched their focus to fighting the kraken. As Tazmeth attemtped to beat the kraken down, it opened its maw and bit down. With a quick bite and gulp it swallowed Tazmeth. Tazmeth had no desire to be food. He lashed out inside the kraken and with a few well placed strikes, the kraken vomited him back up. The interior strikes enraged the kraken and it began to violently lash around. A whirlwind of tentacles followed and the Muskrats were subjected to a display of physical strength unmatched by anything they had seen before. The tentacles struck with tremendous power and drove the Muskrats away from the kraken. Cambio was nearly felled by a single strike. Dami absorbed the hits as best as anyone could. Tazmeth effortlessly swam around the barrage of tentacles as they came his way. As the battle reached its climax, a linnorm appeared from the hole, but Cambio and Dami wasted no time dropping powerful strikes upon the beast and Cambio then called upon the power of his pact to dominate the creature. A moment later it was felled by a tentacle. With a thunderous final strike, Dami carved the kraken apart. Radiant light cut through the darkness, illuminating the lightless depths. The Muskrats finished cleaning up the drakes.
The party then swam down the hole and found themselves standing on a hill overlooking an incredible sight. The dim lights of the surrounding depths began to shift, revealing a breathtaking sight. A vast, ancient city sprawled before them, nestled within the colossal cavity that once was the surface. Massive structures, adorned with luminscent corals and seaweed, stood proudly, reminscent of the architectuyre of a bygone era. Sunken spires and towers stretched upward, their points disappearing into the fathomless darkness above. The city's glow was not only from radiant flora but also intricate runes and symbols shimmered along the surfaces of structures, pulsating with magical energy. The entire underwater metropolis seemed to hum with a subtle, ethereal melody that resonates through the water, creating an otherworldly ambiance. Gigantic sea creatures, transformed by residual magic of the ancient city, gracefully swam through the city, their bioluminscent patterns casted an enchanted display of colors. Schools of vibrant fish darted between buildings, adding to the mesmerizing underwater tapestry. As the party approached, they noticed a shimmering force field that encapsulated the city. As they pushed through the force field it felt like a film and once they broke through to the other side bubbles containing oxygen formed around their heads. When they reached the gate, they saw the city's entrance. The top of the gate read, "Flumina." The gate was marked with a grand, ornate archway with symbols of arcane significance. The Muskrats were greeted by a group of tortles with turquoise colored skin. They wore clothing and armor made from chitin, seashells, and seaweed. Their leader introduced himself as Sulog, the 33rd Voo'og, essentially the manager of the city who served at the will of the Queen. He explained that the Muskrats were welcome to make use of the city before descending through the Cursed Depths to reach the Alabaster Halls. He explained that the Queen's court had members such as Vanderwallen, Yon Yeppo, and Kilthis an Zerran. Which of these may be Quonog? The Muskrats would soon uncover the truth.
