Session Report 104

General Summary

The Muskrats used their hard earned break to deal with some lingering questions. Dami investigated the past of Lady Emni further and learned that Lady Emni was very active on the Prime Material Plane and that she masqueraded as an adventurer when traveling. She became known as the Lady of Hope because of the numerous deeds she performed to help those around her. Her active presence on the Prime Material Plane made her an attractive target for Mephistopheles. Dami then asked Lady Emni whether there were any notable members of her family. The only notable member that Lady Emni could speak on was Kailius. He served Mephistopheles with extreme loyality for over fifty years. He was a terrifying force on the frontlines of the Blood War and he and Inferno's End became known as a monstrosity on the battlefield. Kailius eventually met his end during a battle of the Blood War. To honor him, Mephistopheles transformed Kailius' children into powerful devils that now serve as a special branch of his guard known as the Swords of Kailius. 
Next, the Muskrats took a trip to the Feywild to visit the Snow Queen. Cambio requested that the Snow Queen and he forge a pact so he could continue his battle against the Achivelli. The Snow Queen explained that she was in need of allies as the planes were moving into a new era. The stability of the Feywild was shattered with the defeat of the Lord of the Hunt and the Snow Queen needed allies to face the new challenges. She requested that if Cambio forge the pact with her that he become a fey lord so that she would have an ally. To become a fey lord, Cambio would have to bathe in a special pool of water for one hour each day for ten years. Cambio agreed to the pact and as a special bonus, the Snow Queen imbued his wand with the powers of the Frozen Reach. The wand turned to solid ice and was overflowing with cold magic. 
The Muskrats then took a trip to Galadagos and there they spent some time look for Quonog. During a conversation with a rather boisterous, old married couple of a halfling and firbolg, they learned that supposedly Quonog could be reached by traveling to the center of Flu'Toquoa Lake on the suymmer equinox and swimming to the bottom of the lake. As the couple explained, many prior expeditions had failed due to creatures lurking at the bottom. Some survivors had explained that they had heard music before being attacked. The only hint that the Muskrats were given was that when they found "the keys," everything would make sense. The only difficulty was that they had to dive at least six-hundred feet to find the "keys." 
After that quick trip to Galadagos, the Muskrats headed to Halvoy for Cambio to meet with Lady Vifrima Blackflame. Upon their arrival, it was revealed that Lady Blackflame was carrying Cambio's child. She again pressed Cambio to marry her. Cambio explained his current commitments such as becoming a fey lord, but Lady Blackflame did not care. Her only desire was to marry Cambio and she did not care if she had to travel to the Feywild to do so. Cambio agreed and they concluded that the wedding would be best to have on the summer equinox. A rather inconvenient date but the Muskrats would now have to race against time to find Quonog and make it to the wedding on time. 
The Muskrats ended their journey by traveling to Haval, the moving home of Vashnaya, the mother of Serenity. There the Muskrats were met by Vashnaya, who appeared as a human-bird hybrid. She was pleased that Itzal had returned Serenity. Vashnaya gave Itzal a choice to increase the power of Serenity. He had to choose between a black feather or a white feath. One would increase Serenity's power from the Shadowfell while the other would draw on the power of the Feywild. Itzal chose the white feather and he felt as Serenity's power grew, but also her mind grew clear and her memories were restored. Vashnaya and Serenity explained that Serenity's mind was broken during a battle with the Achivelli over the Horn of Awakening. Serenity stayed behind so that Vashnaya could escape with the Horn. Vashnaya took the horn to Magmarath Caldera where she paid to have the Horn locked in the Oubliette. Neither Vashnaya or Serenity knew where the Horn of Slumber was but the Muskrats now had to rush to discover it. Their best lead appeared to be Quonog in Galadagos. They had a month to prepare before they could reach him.
