Session Report 10

General Summary

Following the demise of Red Tail and nearly Itzal the rest of the group made it out with their lives. Shade and strife were still inside the cave with the shrine. Kelgac and Cambio came back to rescue Shade, but were ambushed by more Specters. Cambio very quickly perished in combat and was dragged out of the crypt and back to Fort Serlantus. Kelgac and Shade attempted to make a deal with general Bravios to use the powers of one of the prisoners to bring Cambio back to life, but the payment could not be reached. The three wound back up at the inn which was more of a morgue with all these dead adventurers piling up and began chatting up the inn keeper. The inn keepr was paid 100 gp in exchange for some information about a secret trap door that would allow Kelgac and Shade to sneak in and potentially break the powerful prisoner free from the cell. After the two acquired this news they immediately left for the trap door. The inn keeper made it seem like an easy task but there was climbing and strength involved in making down the side of a cliff, across a ravine and back up the other side of the cliff wall. Luckily for Kelgac and Shade they encountered a rather simple man named Marv that could use his insanely large and defined muscles to climb like no one has ever seen before...so Marv claimed. On the second trek down the cliffside some rocks broke off underneath Marv causing him and Shade to fall and take some damage before reaching the bottom. Then Marv fell even further with Kelgac and they landed right in the water. A quick climb of 20 ft and the three are met with an iron door that poses some difficulties when they try and open it. Finally though Marv is able to bust it directly open so they could all climb the 80 ft staircase to the infamous trap door. Shade and Kelgac made a few failed attempts at exiting and searching for the prisoner but were met with guards each time having their suspicions increased as well. Unfortunately for Shade, Kelgac, and Marv General Bravios knew about this trap door and once he had heard wind of all the commotion happening in the same area as the trap door he decided to hide and wait to ambush whoever exited the trap door next. Which is exactly what happened when both Shade and Kelgac emerged from the trap door hidden on the ground. The ever benevolent General decided to still honor their deal with the price being Shade's new magical bow. The group not having much choice was forced to accept this deal to resurrect Cambio and in return assassinate Baron Verdell Pardwell in either Kannaksen right now or wait for him to travel to the Twins of Cortel and assassinate him there. The three of them also had to make a deal with Dorngal, the bearfolk prisoner, in order to revive Cambio. The prisoner requests that his axe be delivered to Barenstadt and buried on the first day of the new year.
