Years ago, around 1870, endeavors by scientists harnessing divine power yielded results that came to be acknowledged as miracles, and thus drove mankind to great piety,and for a time humanity swiftly walked the path of progress, until reaching its peak under what the denizens of the world named Around the turn of the century, however, a great madness descended upon the world, and so the nations who had developed so tranquilly along side one another turned upon each other in an avalanche of violence and destruction. A global war began, one that spanned fifteen years, Resulting in total devastation of the land and its people. Near the end of this period of time, as though a veil had risen from the eyes who witnessed it, the nightmare humanity had been inflicting upon itself became clear, and eventually, and rather simply, gave up the war. From the ashes of this prior conflict, the remains of mankind, battered but not broken, sought redemption. countries and states collapsed and reformed, consolidating what mauled infrastructure remained in its hands into states, and having left the more scarred lands to recover or rot. The wilderness is untamed, and both miracles and machines have wrought terrible damage upon it. It houses terrible secrets and fortune beyond measure. Reclaim it.
